Gearing isn't too much of an issue tbh. Do CT1, get gears and 100 sol every entry then move to CT2 at ilvl 70. You should only use your Sol on your accessories at first because there's not many methods open for that at first, then slowly sol/CT2 your main gear pieces after that.

Recently I've been helping two friends do just this to gear up for HW and get up to 2.55 storyline, they had quit around 2.0~2.2 so they are decently behind on stuff. Anyways I know it's probably a lot harder to gear alone but least you got your hubby for the company. ^^

I also agree that if your FC never helps you and this is a 'if' cause I don't personally know them therefore I don't want to judge them based on just what I'm reading. But if it's how you say it is then they don't seem like the right FC for you.

You're not understanding the joke , they started with the best gear that's higher then what drops! That's why they have no patience for this nonsense XD!

If they can increase the reward by 50% to make up for the time it takes, I think this will even be a more enjoyable way to play, preserving the original difficulty.
You know something else they can do is add challenge mode for those who want to speed run...get more tomes depending on how fast you clear it. This could possibly lower the amount of selfish players in DF

Players that have ilvl130 shouldn't use DF. They should make a PF to look for a party that is right for them if they are not going to have the patience. Yesterday, a tank ilvl 130 was doing a horrible job. He said he was "bind" and he couldn't move. But he did the same in the previous mobs until I mentioned. He started to brag by saying "I shouldn't expect others do good healing as I do" again he was talking about a lvl50. My healer was lvl 45 with lvl 44 gears. I can heal a bad tank as him with my scholar lvl 50.

Again he got a mob of 4 dragons and 2 ice spikes that were so far away from one another and he was always off screen. Can he do a better job in a regular SV? The attitude of just trying to run a instance as "I want to do what i want and screw the rest" is just stupid. A DPs that got a lvl 50 tank as well was trying to argue with him. The tank and the other DPs ended kicking him and laughted on him. Since I was the healer, I decided to leave that toxic environment.

Also, a new 50 probably can't even get in to experts to do the daily, so getting that 900 per week will be more difficult. Given that full i120 needs 120 in all slots, I think saying i120 in 12 days is impossible -- but maybe there's some other combination of gear you're thinking of that would make someone i120 so quickly - keeping the poetic cap in mind? I'm just not sure how you got the 12 day idea. If it is possible, more power to them -- but i wasn't sure how you got to that number of days for i120.
So I forgot about the poetics 'gate'. Big deal. Drop it down to i110+ and it's doable in 12 days. Hell, if you manage to cap poetics on that first week, you can probably get the i120 tome weapon at the 12th day and maybe twine it into 130. Doesn't matter. Tanking with i110 for i130 isn't impossible. I've taken my bravura novus and run through whole dungeons forgetting to equip my i130 axe and handled aggro just fine. I've entered an exdr as a dps or tank where the other dps bring an atma weapon and nobody cared. I've had healers heal 2-3 pack pulls when they only have zenith just fine.

You can pick apart what I said with my mistake but I'm also curious as to why new players have to gear to i120 asap. Care to explain that to me? What's the urgency? Not like they're gonna segwayed into lvling to lvl 60 straight away and be given lvl 60 appropriate gear anyway right? I suspect they'll still have trouble regardless if they're not trained for the current dungeons 'meta' though. That's game teaching the new player issue, not game not giving new players gear fast enough issue.

Added underlined ^^ I feel bad that happened to you, Alexes, but I also think that not all people with i130 should avoid the DF. Many are very nice and help out newer 50s or new players, it is just that there are a lot that also are all 'speed run everything even when I'm subpar myself or party composition is bad' type... Don't give up on all geared people just because some are just plain mean and rude ^_^v

I wasn't trying to pick it apart, just genuinely wondered if there was another way to get i120 so quickly (since I'd do it for my alts). I also don't think there is any urgency whatsoever for anyone to get i120 - especially since everything will equalize in about a month and no one will care what gear anyone has. What I meant my reply to address is the problem the OP was having - that of i120+ people leaving he and his wife due to their lower ilvl. Thus, I only addressed the i120 aspect of it because it seems the OP was concerned with gearing up to the level of those mean dps that ditched he and his wife and his concern with their ability and new player ability to gear up so that kind of thing doesn't happen to them again ^^

Personally, I think at this point anyone who is still so concerned with gear as to be abusive or mean towards others because of it is just playing the game more for ego than fun, as, again, none of what anyone has now will matter soon and getting more geared will merely make leveling to 55 easier // people like those dps in the OP should relax and play for fun and not degrade people who are new to 50 -- and new 50s shouldn't be concerned with 'catching up' since the big reset is coming in a month ^^

I feel like there's a lot of high leveled geared players that are just bad at their job, queue up in DF and yell at the newbies to make themselves feel better because content at their level is too hard. *shrug*

To the OP, I DF almost exclusively because I'm an eternal newb AND I love it. Helping people who are new is awesome to me. Unfortunately there are ass hats but you have to remember that there's actually a lot of really nice people in this game, the rude ones aren't worth your energy. This may mean you need to re-Q a couple of times but usually it only takes 2-3 tries before clearing.

like I said the people who has not patience. I do have a high ilvl character too =p. I just don't go into DF expecting people to just play as if they have the same ilvl gears as my high lvl character. I like to give a chance so I don't yell on new players. I saw a lot of new players that don't know the mechanics. Most of those people learned from their mistake. They said their thanks because they know what to avoid for the next time they queue.
