I've been a member of Aureus Knights since shortly after the release of 2.0, and it has been a distinct pleasure to be part of such an active, engaging and exciting community. AKS is a large company; nonetheless, its officers and members go out of their way to encourage a fun environment and foster a sense of community that will see us well into Heavensward and all future content. From the carefully crafted welcome packages to the inquisitive tonberry, Huebert, who lives in the free company basement and dreams about becoming a famous sous chef, AKS has enough eccentricity and humor to set us apart from other free companies.
Also, KarmaBum is a dirty demon lala.

I was wondering how much of the FC focuses on raiding and how often FC-based progression statics are created within the FC. I started playing again recently and transferred from Siren to Gilgamesh, so I've been thinking about looking for people to raid with. I pretty much only play Tank and Melee DPS, having gone through most of the content post T5 as MNK/NIN, but I've been tanking a lot more than DPSing since I started up again (Just got back from a 5 month or so long break). I'm currently maining PLD and am holding out to see how DRK is before I really decide what I want to main. Progression-wise I'm currently on T10.
Of course I'm also looking for a nice community of people to get along with, but you all seem to fit that pretty well from what I've read.
That's a tough question to answer.
We have 6-7 static Coil groups, and we probably have between 60-100 people that login at least every other day. Some members of those Coil groups (we call them Flights) aren't really all that active outside of Coil, but there are a lot of people that play regularly that don't do progression content at all. They just craft, spam dungeons, and hang out.
As for how often they're created... it depends. We had quite a few formed in the past few weeks/months as people were eager to tackle SCoB and FCoB before the expansion, but we've had periods where none form at all for months. Because we are a large FC, it's not hard to find enough people to create a group; it's generally harder to find one of those people wanting to step up and actually lead a group.
If you're really looking for a Coil group, you can probably build one or join one with a little patience, but we're not a progression-focused bunch (unless you count the progression of Xyphos's nude look and/or YOU STFU JUSTY OR PUMPKINHEAD WILL EAT YOUR SOUL). The main thing about AKS is that, even if you don't immediately find a permanent group, you can usually have a good time and find people willing to farm stuff anyway.

That doesn't sound too bad. I'm not in a huge rush; basically just want a group of people to play with when Heavensward comes around and possibly join/make a static for Alexander/Alex Savage. I'm not really worried about pushing through Final Coils since I think the gear looks awful, so I've been taking it a bit slow lately, haha. I may find someone from the FC and put in an app later today. Hey, interesting in switching servers and joining a new FC. How is your server in terms of people overall? We left WoW for a multitude of reasons but found annoying people spamming zone chat to be one of them....hopefully it isn't like that.
About me: I'm stationed in Alaska so would be down to play casually and am looking forward to hitting 50 and raiding. My wife comes paired with me as well. We can tank and heal (and everything else). I'm definitely looking forward to the dark knight as well....I work all day but am free on weekends and evenings. Wife will be in OH for a year and then coming back to AK so there will be those differences as well.
Does it seem Like a good fit?

Umm that's a loaded question. Overall, I would say Gilgamesh has a good crowd of people. We're probably more progressive than majority of servers since we are a high pop server with many groups geared towards end-game content. I have never seen the pf empty and there's always groups doing something.
However that being said, do we have people who spam zones? Yes. Normally, it would be a PC ran Casino or a FC looking to recruit members. I normally don't hang out in Mor Dhona because people there tend to chat in shout about anything and everything.
I've been in AKS since launch and I haven't regretted it. We have a good number of couples that play in the FC so you wouldn't feel out of place in that regard. If anything, AKS would be a good fit moving into the server as we are pretty laid back causal guild. Get your toes wet until you found something more suitable to your taste.

I think you guys would absolutely fit - there are quite a few married couples in the guild, including the Demon Lala! Gilgamesh is pretty busy - as for zone chat I don't really notice (unless you are in Mor Dhona) - a lot of the guild hangs around the FC house as a habit, though. You would both be welcome so just find one of us for an invite!
