Hurray! Finally saved up 6mil for my personal house!

People like to play where the people are. I always roll toons on high population servers simply because I like to see other people running around while I am leveling. As far as "scarce resource" goes, give me one good reason why housing has to be scarce? I see no reason why they can't just double the amount of housing instances on higher population servers.

Not only that but the server wasnt always full. The point I became a member of balmung was when my old 1.0 server merged with Balmung because there were so few people playing. How is that my fault? Since then, as it has grown, I have invited friends to join me, I have 4 other family members that play with me and I'm not about to relocate all of us on our dime and try to deal with transferring the collective 15-20mil we have for the FC and personal funds.

SE clearly has some issues with how to program personal housing. The simple fact that it took them NINE MONTHS (from when FC housing to when personal housing were implemented) only to add a "Purchase as personal estate" button to the Welcome Board. Something clearly went wrong in their plans and what we have now was a bandaid solution, because no way on Earth it would've taken them that long to do just that. If this was their intention for personal housing from the beginning, they would've done it a lot sooner.

I'm pretty sure they are looking at something different, some change. Whether or not it will be a fundamental change or just the addition of new wards. They cant have plans to add so much content linked to housing when so many people are unable to get a (FC/Personal) house.

Honestly, I just want gardening options. Give us flower pots for the instanced housing like they had in XI, something! I can train/stable my bird with the FC, but I'd like to have the option to have things growing all the time.

I think i heard a possible expansion of "flower pots" for Inn rooms. While that is nothing compared to housing, I really miss having a Mog House that I could decorate. Even that would be enough to tide me over till I had a house of my own but it is also linked to FC housing... FC cant get a house cause they are all taken, Don't want to join another FC cause we love our group, name, and restriction levels.

While this is the quickest solution to availability I'm glad they are not oblivious to the fact people want their houses. This just gives us enough time to save up for our Large Company house! Staying tuned to more information and I will add it to the OP.

I blame the Miqo'tes desperate for dat ERP they steal all the houses.
I was considering buying a mansion but when I checked yesterday some FC bought it! I looked inside and it had an interior a 5 year old decorated, outside had bikini retainers, and almost all the private chambers had perverted descriptions!!

I was disappointed my maybe mansion was taken over by a group of lonely ERP'ing adults/teenagers T-T

Good point. I think FC's should be limited to one plot as well as players limited to one plot. Some people ended up with several houses so they could sell them for profit.

Glad to hear them acknowledge there IS a shortage of housing. A nice change from the "its fine and working as intended" they said when they released Personal Housing. Anyway, here's the new quote and the source.

They have plans to add housing in Ishgard but in 1-2 years at earliest. There's not enough land right now so they plan to work on that first. If you're not sure about spending money on housing just buy a large one now.

So, we still don't have the "you lose your house after 35 days inactivity" thing? That explains why wards feel so empty. People bought a house, became inactive and might never come back, but the plot is gone. I honestly don't understand that.
