EU Datacenter. Any news coming in Paris Live Letter XXI?

Hi there FF XIV community.

I know many european players are complaining about EU servers since launch, but almost 2 years after ARR release European still have to play with this strange and unfair lag that is really annoying for us.

And watching a video from Japan or North America makes me cry and feeling really jealous. I love this game, I really love it, but I'm really tired of this low-quality gameplay and disappointed after every Live Letter, letter of the producer of any other kind of event where SE don't tell anything about EU datacenter.

So here I am, asking you if you will say something about that in next Live Letter, which will take place here in Europe. I've got the feeling that I'm losing my time writting this words and having hope after 2 years but still...

Yeah I have also been hoping for some updates on the state of EU datacenters, and has been hoping it is launched at same time as Heavensward so we can also experience all the glorious new expansion without our typical server lag that puts a damper on the gaming experience.

You guys aren't the only ones that get lag playing on the West Coast in the US is equally as bad because the servers are in Montreal Canada.

Once we get the EU servers relocated to the EU, there's always the possibility that the NA server could be relocated to a more suitable location for you guys.

It is not similar.
Not only a matter of distance... Some EU ISP stupidly reroute connections to NA, which make the game almost not playable for many people.

Last mention of Eu datacenters comes from an interviev a month ago. Basically after 7/8 months the news is that theres no news. Wont be there at launch and they dont have any estimation of ETA but please look forward to it

What's the typical expected latency from EU to montreal anyway? I'm playing from Indonesia atm, have 300+ latency, still dodging titan ex slides and plumes like a boss. If it's below 300 and people are still having trouble, I think there's a possibility that after the server move, they'd still have 'lag' troubles stemming from crappy quality over just pure latency speeds. Short distance, bumpy road, etc.

I think EU datacenters will be in Nantes or near in Brittany. Why would they come to Nantes in May ? There are no gaming event until Epitanime at the end of May (which is a "small" event) and Japan Expo in July (Yoshi-P said he's coming).

Your title is misleading, it's in Nantes and not in Paris
