If the piece of gear is not an upgrade for you but is an upgrade for the other blm you are a dick and in the wrong and deserve the vote kick. If it's not an upgrade for either then I have no issue with people needing things for seals or glamour.Date: 5/9/15
Time: 10:30PM RT
Server: Siren
Dungeon: Keeper of the Lake
Party Make Up: Warrior, Scholar, and 2x Black Mages.
My Class: Black Mage
Reason for kick: Needing on Black Mage Gear.
Apparently the other Black Mage doesn't realize that it's perfectly okay for another person using the same class to need on gear for GC Seals, Glamours, or whatever. I would assume that the 3 Lalafells I was paired up with were friends from the same server or they felt the same way about me being a ''gear ninja''... Either way I shouldn't have been kicked and the developers need to look at this issue... We all put a ton of time into this game grinding for our relics, levels, gear, whatever it may be.... and to be kicked from a dungeon for needing on gear is not right. If I gotta go through the same dungeon 100 times to get 1 piece of gear so should everyone else!
I'm not changing how I play so kick all you want...
What if the other BLM downgrades their gear so that it looks like anything special that drops is an upgrade? If I trade out my i130 shoes for i110 ones and then run WoD and i120 ones drop... someone else running with that class might have i120/130 Poetic tome shoes, and I could say 'Look it's an upgrade for me mine are only i110!' and if that player passes then they fall into my armory chest right next to my i130 shoes they don't know I have. But if we both want them for our retainer then we each have as valid of a claim on them as the other.

I really hate this kind of culture..
For me, i wouldn't examine people's gear.. Be it excellent, good, or bad, i'll treat em all the same and wont judge anything. I'll need/greed whichever gear i want, will consider if someone ask me to pass, but the reality is that people with lower tier gear wants to be entitled of them self when they don't even say a single word up until i loot the items and they go raging over it or sulking or questioning my behavior..
If they ask me where is my manner in helping new player, i can ask back "Where is thy manner in hoping to get something without saying a single word?"
Very true. Unless somebody specifically asks me if they can have something because it's a big upgrade for them then I'm going to roll on it. I don't get why some don't understand that needing it for seals or glamour is a need. If i can use it for something be it those things or my retainer then i will roll on it. You can ask me nicely if you are a new level 50 and need the gear as an upgrade to progress and I'll probably let you have what you need but no time for people who say nothing then start screaming at me because i needed on a chest for my retainer.I really hate this kind of culture..

So it's worse to examine people than to need something you DON'T ACTUALLY NEED? If you want the piece of gear for anything other than using it, there is no need there, you want it, but you don't need it why is it so hard for some people to wrap their heads around this.I really hate this kind of culture..

Might as well say everyone in the group should be able to need anything because they need it for their off classes with this kind of stupid mentality.

Well, I might need it for my retainers :-) Lets be honest, running a dungeon a couple of times for gear is part of the game. If you miss out one run, that is unfortunate, but you can do the run again. People are investing time, I think they also deserve the rewards they are due, whether it be seals/glam whatever. The longer you play the game, the more you will have to run content for equipment. How many WOD runs do you need to max out your gear? I don't even know about coil. I think its fair game IMO.

Dude, the reason behind needing gears would be up to the individual, where's the right when a bunch of strangers comes up and say that there are stuffs you cant loot.. That is to say that they even ask for the gears which doesnt happen most of the time, since they whined after it's been looted.. The system sets people equally on looting.. Other players get loots that i want, i'll move on and try again to get that loot..So it's worse to examine people than to need something you DON'T ACTUALLY NEED? You just sound like an entitled prick. Cry more. The loot system dictates that no one is more deserving of a piece of gear just because of their current ilevel. A player is not in the wrong for needing on gear that they have the ability to need on. If I'm not notified of a player seeking upgrades, I need on everything I can for seals. That does not make me selfish.

Aw, did someone point out it was a dick move and it hurt your wee feelings? Just because you can do something doesn't mean it's right or justified to do it. It not only makes you selfish, but it means you need to look up the definition of selfish. You just sound like an entitled prick. Cry more. Last few times have been in LoA/ST/WoD due to trying to initiate a votekick on trolls, turns out most of them only do troll runs now with partial premades. His buddies vote no, then I get kicked.
As someone said before, I don't really understand mentality of trolling. Purposely making game frustrating for others doesn't seem in any way fun. I get a lot more fun out of those runs, when alliances are so coordinated, that every mechanic is handled flawlessly, and we're able to push/skip phases.
