let me rephrase it then: Se should make a rule that you cant have more then 3-4 accounts on at a time. 3-4 accounts still leaves plenty of room for multi-boxers and would make it twice as hard for rmt. Anyone who doesn't follow this rule should be banned.but why? It is not against the TOS in any way shape or form. It is perfectly legal, within the bounds of the game and it's rules, to run multiple accounts at once. This is not a bannable offense and should not be as there is absolutely no reason to do it other than to prevent RMT. SE tried to make a game that was anti-RMT...it got a 4.0 and flopped horribly...
The thought of anti-RMT measures being the main factor in the game's poor reception makes me seriously laugh out loud.but why? It is not against the TOS in any way shape or form. Combating RMT is important, even while the game is unpopular, because if it ever gets good the economy is going to be so screwed up by these people stockpiling money that new players will never be able to afford anything. Everyone knows lala trains with starting gear and random names are RMT, stop trying to defend them. You don't need to catch them in the act of trading gil to know what they are up to... it's plainly obvious. At the very least reports like this should be investigated and not so easily dismissed.
I believe you're already only allowed up to 5 FFXIV services per account.
Leaving aside your "Everyone knows..." comment and the "You don't need to catch them in the act..." comment, which are sweeping generalizations FYI. Things like this most certainly SHOULD be reported, to the right venue (the STF). I'm not sure where you are getting your information that "reports like this" are being "easily dismissed". Is it the lack of reply from the developers to posts of this nature being dumped into the general discussion forum which is entirely the wrong venue? The thought of anti-RMT measures being the main factor in the game's poor reception makes me seriously laugh out loud.

You can't call Tom and get pissed when Bob never calls you back. Also you don't know if some forum rep discretely passed this along to the STF, nor should you expect to know since again, this is entirely the wrong venue. Send it to the right place to the responsible parties, and then it's out of your hands. At that point you've done your due diligence (assuming there was any); the end.
My comment was mainly in response to Dubont's 'move along, nothing to see here' attitude toward something that should be investigated. Some people need to be less apathetic towards this behavoir, and his comment about anti-RMT measures causing the game to receive a poor review makes it sound like he is actually in support of no action on SE's part at all.Leaving aside your "Everyone knows..." comment and the "You don't need to catch them in the act..." comment, which are sweeping generalizations FYI. I suppose not 'everyone' knows what these people are up to - but those with common sense do. The original post was a plea for action, and if someone behind the scenes secretly brought this to the attention of someone who can do something about it - then that's great. My guess is that nothing will be done about it.
Yeah you're allowed 5 FFXIV Service accounts, per Square Enix account and can be logged into 5 characters at once. Not talking about extra characters. So if they had another SE account you could use another 5 instances of FFXIV. Realistically no one multiboxer needs more than 2 because they just use it for teleporting and trading because lack of delivery box. Controlling more then 2 characters in FFXIV would be a crazy pain, unless someone is using cheats, which would be a bannable offense and will be dealt with SE. Or if the characters are used for RMT they will be banned. We don't need more rules for legitimate players.
I don't feel multiboxing would be on the grounds of unfair or cheating, because you have to still do all the 5 actions on the 5 different accounts running. You are spending the time to do it. It would be no different than logging into 5 characters on your one account and running 5 character sets of leves and sending all the gil to your one main character.
Oh man I had to laugh at this.alright here is my take on this RMT lala crap.
This is a company (SE) who has the right to ban anyone they
think as suspicious. This is not the US Supreme Court where you
are only charged with the crime that you were caught in.
It's a game. If they feel it is RMT actions (which, no duh it is)
then they can and most likely eventually will ban/delete the accounts within question.
People's logic on here is straight backwards.
So if somebody came and stole your stuff and you called the police
and the police came to your house and said,
"well, we didn't see anyone do it. There's that suspicious guy standing over there with a big bag. Hmmm. Owell, we didn't see him do it though so no point in questioning him"
Sorry, it doesn't work that way. SE might be able to do that, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea and could damage their reputation more than anything. Jcblue pretty much jailed/suspended/etc. people on a whim when ToAU came out and he caused a huge sh*tstorm because of that. Imagine if every GM did that.
I don't know about you, but I don't want to be suspended for not catching a tell and being reported for it while I craft, fish, etc.

Unfortunately there is little you will accomplish by adding this post to the forums. If a mod were to act on this post they would need to pass it off to someone else.
I would recommend you write a quick report to the Special Task Force, which is a team SE has dedicated to handling reports on RMT and Botting Found Here [link at the bottom]
This is the method SE requests any player trying to report RMT or botters use.
Try to include every name and even the screenshot if you can. If you need a shorter link to fit within the submission box try a image hosting site like www.imugr.com. Include reasons why you suspect they were botting and any observations you made if you followed them.

Is it weird that they have obscure names and follow 1 guy all of the time? Yes, but your pic ONLY shows that they have obscure names and are following him for a moment. Is it weird that none of them respond? No. I don't respond to half of the people that try and talk to me. Why? Because if I don't know you and I'm busy, I'm not going to take time out of my day to entertain you.
What I was saying in the other thread and in this thread is that your screenshots prove nothing because a picture can't show anything illegal unless it is CLEARLY RMT activity such as shouting stuff like "FFXI GIL WWW.BROGAME.COM $12/1MIL" THAT is RMT activity. While the actions in your SS are odd, they offer no real indication of RMT activity.
ALSO, not all bots are RMT and not all RMT bot. Just to clear that up...
wow, ban this guy simply for quoting RMT sites... not only that, but clearly in denial of RMT.
This RMT clearly has all the lalas following him around during levequests and shit to get extra gil. and sell it. DUHHHH
BANSTICK HIM!!
