One thing people seem to be forgetting is that it's not like 3.0 exists on a separate timeline; 2.x happened before it, and even if you're an Au Ra you still helped out Haruchefant and Aymeric. The former could simply relay information about your... idiosyncrasies... to the latter, who would then vouch for you following 2.4-2.5.5's events.

Might still get dirty looks from the populace, but at least as far as the government goes we should be OK. Hopefully the authorities can do something about potential lynchings...

Right, but that also means that while trying to find the Enterprise with Alphinaud and Cid, you're approaching the houses of Ishgard as an Au Ra with no one to vouch for you. I'm curious to see if they'll acknowledge it for characters who haven't done that part of the story.

I can't remember if you had Alphinaud and Cid with you on your first visit with Haurchefant, if so they can forewarn him about your "uniqueness" as far as denizens of Eorzea go through 2.x. Wear a cowl on the way in so you don't get attacked by overzealous guards, and Haurchefant can tell them to leave you alone as you go about your business. He seems like the most reasonable Ishgardian thus far, much more willing to judge on character than appearance, and both Alphinaud's and Cid's names bear some weight. Still, you spent some time at the Observatorium for some time before moving on to Camp Dragonhead, so...

Either way, I'll be surprised if there's no new dialogue for Au Ra players but they'd have to add new dialogue for most every NPC if they did that. Yugiri is probably one that needs the most attention but the vast majority of NPCs (if not all of them) would require tweaking for Au Ra players, which just isn't time or cost effective.

I know its been brought up before, maybe in this thread as well but I rather not go through 47 pages trying to find it, but the Odin minion specifically mentions that his blade is of Auri origin. Even if they make rare appearances in the main city-states they are still known to exist and probably wouldn't need most NPC dialouge to be changed. Really if they were I'd wonder why Duskwight WoL aren't more distrusted by people who aren't aware of their status upon first seeing them (note I haven't played one yet so if they actually are it leads a bit more to people being surprised by Au Ra, or rather not being so, needing to be a suspension of disbelief.)

Most certainly Yugiri is the one who SHOULD be getting a dialouge change since she ended up not having something like a giant scar on her face, though its always possible she'll bring up some sorta Doman custom or the like, or just say that while an Auri WoL is accepted, it doesn't neccessarily mean all Auri would (again, Duskwights already seem to have this going on with em).

As for atleast Coerthas: Once you have Haurchefant's trust he's pretty much your biggest fan boy and would probably vouch for you. Its getting to that point that may be a problem, though seeing as how we'll be able to go freely into Coer and Ishgard it ultimately won't be a problem probably.

The weird thing about that is now Au Ra are on Eorzea before Yugiri was even there, which might work for the Xaela, but for the Raen, who seem to be coming from Doma I'm pretty sure, makes incredibly little sense. And let's not kid ourselves, not like Ishgardians really listen to reason unless if some super serious shit happens to those in higher positions (Look at the stuff that happened with that Inquisitor)

Not really that much different from there being so many Miqo'te males then there probably should be adventuring. From a story standpoint the WoL would probably be the only Auri adventurer, or one of a few, up until Heavensward. Raen's can be said to have either fled Doma after it was taken by the Empire, Xaela just for the fight. Ultimately whatever the character was before going to one of the three city-states doesn't really matter.

That said if they don't address this with new dialouge for Yugiri, atleast for those who are Auri, that would be wierd.

I suppose that could make sense, or just the nomadic patterns of one Xaela tribe brought them to Eorzea, maybe to avoid Garlemald. But even then it'd be kinda weird for Yugiri to go all "Oh I'm hiding my appearance because it might startle random people" while the HoL in that cutscene is some girl in a glamoured outfit to look like a bikini :P It would seem a little weird though, being that within the story, they basically would be the first and only Auri to come to Eorzea or else Yugiri's dialogue really wouldn't make sense.
