There's a distinct difference between being reckless and being calculated.

Reckless implies that you're likely not going to survive. Being 'reckless' for a 10% increase when the risk is a 100% decrease (death) is not smart. 'Reckless' isn't a smart idea.

The Titan Extreme example isn't really reckless. It's calculated. It's knowing the safe time between explosions and exploiting FF14's AoE targeting system (The animation doesn't line up with the targeting). This isn't reckless. It's calculating. Yes, you'll likely die testing it out, but it's not reckless.

Reckless is finishing a cast when you're targeted. Reckless is ignoring a one-shot mechanic because the boss is at sub-1%.

Reckless is taking every perceived way of increasing your damage without ever calculating risk

    Reckless is bad.

    Calculated is good.

Calculated is a better word. Good semantics.

One tip I can give you, at least from the perspective of a Dragoon, is this --

If you mess up in your rotation, don't get frustrated, don't panic. Just keep going as if you did the right thing, and do your rotation from there.

Panicking/getting frustrated puts you on tilt and makes you more prone to mistakes. Just go with it; the worst thing you can do to your DPS in a situation like that is to focus too much on your error and pause to try to figure out where you should have been.

You can tell you're panicking on DRG when you press Heavy Thrust and Phlebotomize back to back.

That's actually something that can realistically happen (more so in SCoB admittedly). Sometimes when you momentarily switch targets or plain disconnect for a mechanic on DRG, then go back to the main boss before it's time to refresh CT, the rotation will often devolve into HT > Phleb > two combos.

been playing blm a little while. Blm rotation is pretty much just counting to 5 while watching for procs. other than forgetting to put right acc gear on and missing a ice3, not realizing it and continuing to count lol. idk how you can mess up rotation badly. even if you do keep some ethers in stock and get back on the horse... of counting to 5 over and over again. if you get bored switch to brd or drg and count to 6 instead

My tip is not let pride stop you from taking advice.

If people rage at you, have a look what they are raging at but dont ever take it to heart.
