A thread dedicated to 'average' player skill in PvP? My God....I cannot facepalm hard enough. Thank you OP for being a great example of why most of today's games require little to no brain function to play. Instead of learning mechanics, let's complain that they exist in the first place. F**k learning things, that's for 'hardcore' players. Do you realize 'hardcore' players aren't born into the world with PvP skill? What is your definition of 'average' and 'hardcore' anyway?

Worst part: Out of all the intelligent threads out there, these will be the ones SE picks up on.

I've never seen someone call a bard a lolbard, they do great dps and insane burst[/QUOTE]

Yeah! It's not uncommon to see bards hit top dps in pvp. But I thought they got a dps penalty for distance (doing 40% in max/min range, 100% in exactly 15y...). This nerf is just for wolfs den?

Have u seen how fast bards would drop back in WD? They only seem top notch in FL where u can move around a lot.

And i guess i should have worded tht better when i meant about blm sleep diminishing returns.
I meant it as they shortened the duration etc not as in they just added it as of tht patch lol
But yea there really isn't a thing called an average player in This pvp.
Its more so of how much time did u spend playing pvp as a player.
Cuz u'd have to do the maths to see where the average player is at.
All in all casters have it rough but not as much as the healers.
They do everything a caster dps does but a caster cant heal well or revive ppl.
So just enjoy ur class and be thankful ur not tht poor healer infront of u getting piledrived by a group of dps/ tanks lol.

As healer/ caster I could say you that I always tought that the "boring" job was melee in pvp, and yes you can have bad time if someone decide to staler you as caster but remember that you have a group and also even a SMN in pvp can do burst DPS using all your CDs and pvp Skills (Raging strikes + Wither + Aurablast + Ruin II and Energy drain spam + pet can really do a lot of damage in about 5 sec).

Also blackmages ARE DPS in PvP and they are also crowd controller, "selfish" BLM use them only to place well a LB or save from stalkers, but this is an advantage not a burdensome task.
Remember that with a single fire III (thac can proc and so be an istant skill) you can hit for 1200/1400 HP, that is about 1/3 of a normal DPS/Healer total HP.

People have just to try caster and adapt to this kind of fight.

In PvE, casters mostly just dps. In PvP, casters become mostly about crowd control. No one is worried about BLM’s dps; they are concerned because of AoE Sleep and AoE Bind. The way you play caster in PvP couldn’t possibly be more different than how you play in PvE. Especially for BLM, this is such a drastic change from how the job usually plays that it’s difficult to imagine casual players would enjoy it very much.
I realize you're going by your own opinion here but I couldn't disagree with you more about Caster, BLM is my favorite job, I may not be into pvp Much but when I do I play blm and I'm pretty good at just being the target for the enemy instead of doing much xD lol. That being said I find the rotation simple and fun all in one. Ultimately I find that it comes down to what you want to play most, and if you're willing to learn it. The skill level will follow as you're willing to learn.
