This right here is the one of the biggest issues with you Dave. You brush everyone aside members, ex-members, and non-members. I used to be in Tribe. I had no issues with the application process. You were looking for people to take it seriously. That's great. I loved the getting members to give you commendations basically why they thought you were a good fit or not. It encouraged new members to not be quiet and shy. I thought the application process was fine. Anyone who didn't want to put in that much effort just didn't want to be in the FC enough.

Now down to why people think you're an elitist. You basically come across like you're the best of the best and lets face it, you're an average player. I have seen you wipe a group in garuda ex (back when it was new content) by letting spiny get to 3 stacks and then vote kick the healer because it was their fault people died. It was your fault and you refused to take blame. You ask your members for feed back and then completely disregard it because its not what YOU want. As the FC leader, you should be fostering acceptance of all play levels and gear but you don't. I've seen you kick fc members from things like mog extreme learning groups cause you didn't think they were good enough even though you yourself were constantly dying to mechanics. The whole reason you went from 200 to like 70 members is YOU. People don't want to deal with your bullshit.

If you want Tribe to make a come back in FFXIV, get a new FC Leader.

I've mostly avoided anything that dealt with Tribe since I left but this time you opened the gate yourself so I'm going to respond. As a former member of Tribe I did not dislike Tribe and if not for the stupid rule of having to be in Tribe for every game I played Tribe was in I'd still be in Tribe... just not in Tribe for FF. The FF Chapter of Tribe has an issue that is tightly ingrained in it and it is something that was brought up to you many times and many times you chose to ignore it. You even setup a thread for FC members to weigh in and they pretty much said the same thing (to which you were quite annoyed with I might add). The thing is whether it is intended or not you come off as a arrogant jerk at worst and condescending at best when you interact with a lot of people. I had plenty of people outside the FC say as much when they ran things with you. There was A LOT of damage control to do.

When this was brought up to you by several people you brush it off and act like you don't do anything wrong and refuse to look at your behavior and try to change. Whether you realize it or not you do come off as this. And refusing to even acknowledge that people see you this way means you aren't going to change. Your biggest support left because you refused to acknowledge this from her and she got tired of doing the damage control. When I had to do pretty much all of that myself when she left I got annoyed with it and quit my position as an guide too. If Tribe would have let me leave the FC and stay in Tribe to be honest I would have dropped the FC like a hot potato. Your attitude doesn't make you a bad player but it does make you a bad leader when you refuse to look at that and try to work to better your image. After a huge amount of people left I hoped maybe just maybe you would see why and realize we were right.

But no you have yet again dodged the issue and trued to lay the blame elsewhere. This is why Tribe is looked at with contempt right now. It should make you realize when I see Akiza advertise in Mor Dhona I usually see nothing against Tribe in shout. When I see you advertise in Mor Dhona people typically lash out at you. This should tell you something and if it doesn't nothing me or anyone else says ever will. I still think the Tribe FC can be a good FC under your leadership if you would just stop acting like you are infallible and try to change your attitude toward people.

You also don't push a lot of your guides to do their jobs so while some do their job they end up also covering for the ones that don't. I have no clue how long your 2IC was in his position when almost no one in the FC even knew who he was except really long time Tribe members. Your raid guide was almost never around and it was hard to get raids organized because no one knew who to talk to.

You had guides quitting left and right because they found out they were going to have to do their share and someone else's share of the work and you weren't going to bother to solve the issue.

Then there was the constant attitude given about people who left "oh they left no big loss" <-- I literally heard you say this in the main channel on mumble right in front of half the members online and you wonder why people didn't respect you? If I have to give more examples before you understand I don't see it ever getting better. I hope it does but at this point I'm not holding out much hope.

That doesn't exactly hold up when many of those leaving were guides in the FC one of which quit the game and later started a chapter in Tribe as a chapter leader same as Dave. You can only take that excuse so far. I ran an FC before I joined Tribe and I tried to warn of this same thing because it happened to my old FC because the old FC leader did the same exact things Dave did except he did it as a "Community Leader" who didn't even play the game anymore and therefore had even less respect from the community. That and we had a raid issue much the same as what Tribe had back a year ago which you weren't a guide for. These issues were brought up and quickly dismissed and then things blew up in their faces and they wondered why. Well it shouldn;t take a rocket scientist to figure out when you dismiss the concerns of your leadership as well as your FC they will leave you in droves.

When Veon quit and went to another FC that left a massive hole in Tribe since she was one of the few doing their job as a leader most of the leadership members don't no who they are and why they are even leaders. When I joined back in May 2014 Dave was seen as the Elitist Di*ck and the guy who was meant to be avoided that's why he was always in his own chat channel by himself while the rest of the members were in the clique hanging out Veon. She was the Face of Tribe and damage control for Dave to stop the bleed out of members. When she stepped down and left a large chunk of players saw the writing on the wall and left while a few stayed. Sure we had people become leave for the WoW Expansion and some quit during the break but why didn't any of guides take up their role as leaders and replace lost members. Sure Dave is an Elitist D*ck but that can change quickly but what needs to be fixed is the leadership that surrounds him that members don't know exits. A great leadership team in an FC can cover up the flaws of even the most incompetent chapter leader.

Stop trying to be "a leader". Be yourself, be caring and be respectful. Put others before you and you will find yourself surrounded by friends. Friends who will follow you in your mind blowing endeavours and adventures.
