I think the LotA Onion gear is a better match for the helmet, personally. Of course, it is LNC/DRG only, so there's that.

Interesting thread necro but on Balmung I see a bunch of people wearing that hat and I'm quite jealous knowing that I can never get that item since I didn't start playing until 2.0.
Also the DRG CT1 helmet looks horrendous on female characters.

If your retainer love you, you can get the helmet in red.

It is just that the 1.x Onion Knight set is very much like the Onion Knight from FF Tactics

Hm... if the assets still exist in the game, I see no reason why SE couldn't easily bring it back. ^^ Especially if it wasn't a speacial-exclusive-seasonal-whatnot thingy, like the helmet bit of it.

Yeah, I was hoping for a better color scheme to dye the blue when I made this set long ago, but to no avail sadly. At least the red one is still around for people to buy from the boards or get from retainers. Just wish they'd have one you could dye. Supposedly there was one in 1.0, but the only other Onion Knight looking one is the Peregrine Helm, but I don't think that can be dyed... not 100% on that though.
