    dungeon helpers

You know, whenever I'm on my SCH in a lower level dungeon, I find that other players (generally DPS) think that because I'm DPSing, I must not also be healing. I'm not sure if it's because Eos doesn't show what she's doing (as in, all they see is me DPSing.) I finally asked in my last dungeon where a DPS was healing (an arcanist.) Her answer was because I wasn't, despite no one going below 90% HP at any point. I keep my fairy on obey and just fill in with phys whenever a party member's HP goes below 80% or so as needed.

So, do you diplomatically point out that you are, in fact, healing with your fairy or do you just let it slide in dungeons? Is it just not worth looking like a jerk in a dungeon group or does it not matter in the long run?

It's the same on Whm. If you know something about a boss's rotation you know that after a big attack sometimes a hard hitting attack hits the tank, so instead of casting multiple Aoes and a cure bomb to get everyone up, I bomb the tank and then do a medica2 knowing that the regen will cap them off. I see blms spamming physick on themselves and I just shrug and CS and throw rocks at the boss. I let them think they saved themselves, now if its a dps race, I speak up. We cant fail because a dps doesn't have faith in a regen and isn't doing the dmg needed.

Only really stupid people will fail to notice HP being restored. I've never once encountered this problem.

To give benefit of the doubt, perhaps this player was so new that they had no idea what the fairy was for and was also one of those players who overheal at the slightest boo-boo.

If someone gave me attitude for absolutely no reason, I would invite them to complain if they died from my lack of healing, but otherwise invite them to continue doing their own jobs. If a DPS caster is healing, I will flat out ask them to stop wasting time and get on with what they're supposed to be doing, pointing out that, if they are such danger that they feel the need to stop and heal, they will probably die while standing still attempting to cast that feeble heal rather than avoiding damage and getting healed by me.

For low level dungeons ,there is always the possibility that the other player is new and doesn't know about the healer pets (I've had that a few times with Sastasha and Copperbell). Politely pointing out and explaining that to the other players always helps the players learn.

I find usually those people are newer (especially in the first few dungeons where I constantly am in CS and barely actually do any healing, thanks Eos). I just let them know I am, in fact, doing my job...or at least, you know, Eos is, and that they should focus on attacking. Usually they get the idea.

I haven't encountered this situation while healing.... I have, however, been on the other side of the situation. Took my arcanist lala into Sastasha once a while ago and the conj healer was always waiting till the tank was 50% and below. Or wandering off... - so I became healer for a short duration. >_> I couldn't trust the healer when they were constantly making me nervous about the tank's health. "You don't trust me". no - no I don't.

In your case, they seemed to have been over reacting or just not paying attention to the health bounce (from faerie/physicks)

In really low level dungeons (Sastasha, Tamtara, Copperbell) I generally only heal the tank if they get to like 60% when we're against Mobs. I'm a little more strict on my healing during boss fights but still not like "omg their hp is at 50%! They're going to die!". Those dungeons don't have any tank busters so... But I have had ACNs who heal their "friend" the tank when they drop to 80%. I ask them why, and they complain that I'm not. I always point out that there is no reason to heal them so often in low level dungeons and for them to please let me do my job. If the tank dies you can complain otherwise let the healer heal.

I understand what you're saying, being the truly low level dungeons, and I agree with you.

--- in regards to my example situation (and just to further explain the situation before anyone thinks I'm one of those healers that cure when 10% of a tank's HP is gone...) - the person could have just tossed a CSed heal and it could have been fine. I might have a little bit of a hard time with trust, but seeing a tank continuously below 50% - hell, 30% - with little reaction is alarming.
("they're gunna cure. /shrug ....wait, they're gunna cure, right? er, ....right? please? Forget the fhdsjk treas-okay, I don't trust you. *Physick*"). In your case, if they're freaking out over 80%, then that's silly and they're freaking for no reason

But yeah. That's the only time I have done so, with exception to the healer getting overrun with lost ADDs and I just helped to heal them in a moment gone awry.
I don't believe in "heal all the time every time!" (I've seen it. It's annoying.) but not a fan of cutting down to the line, just because it's an easy dungeon, either (which wasn't the OP's case, so I don't feel the DPS' taking over healing was necessary, for them).

But yeah, I completely understand what you're saying. When I was leveling my ACN I'd heal when the healer wasn't. I've seen the tank drop to like 20% and I'd have to save them.

I'm kind of guilty of ignoring a tank's HP at times if I know we can kill the mobs before the tank dies though. >>; /nervous laugh

Ah, sorry, this is why I need coffee before I look at forums OTL (me + mornings = no). I didn't take offense, but rather just further explaining after realizing things about my first post after reading yours (I was a bit vague/open to interpretation - and I'm used to people just jumping in and tearing me apart z.z Argumentive/combative siblings who don't let interpretations go has made me overcautious... and then I get wordy x.x; ). Sorry, if I seemed it! D:
