Will it be a year before this game is competitive enough for PS3?

There is as much chance of FF XIV releasing on PS3 any time soon as there is FF Versus XIII. The way i see it right now the PS3 game is just something Square can use as an excuse for why certain features are still missing. " We plan to include it with the PS3 launch." Square don't care about competition i thought that was clear when they released FF XIV on PC in such a state. They hadn't even heard of WoW they live in a bubble separate from the real world. They don't care how long the PS3 game takes as they believe the name alone will sell it. We could all be playing PS4 by the time we see it release.

Yep exactly. I said prior to OB when friends from XI wwere going ape shite over the launch. I told them it would be foolish to release and I suspected what they heard were rumors. Well... I was wrong AND RIGHT. I was wrong as SE DID release it unfinished as we all know and what do you know, all those friends quit by Nov. I was right unfortunately that it wasn't ready and people really should try to understand that while the time line may not fit THEIR schedule or wants, SE NEEDS to make sure it makes money. To do that, they will release when they can and when it's READY!

Absolutely not but, Americans and humans in general are like that. Everytime a new PC or LT comes out or game systems, phones, iPad, iPods etc etc come out, it's ALWAYS better then the other ones out there. So again Azurymber's assumption and MariyaShidou "doom and gloom" are dead on!

The reason I say that is 1) what I just said about human beings, you all know it's true. 2) Players and critics alike have blasted this game since it's release Sept 2010.

So if you knew no one who played this game and you only knew from the ariticles and forums about how crappy it is, would you want to get THIS game or SWTOR or half the other NEW games that are out or launching from now till Holiday?

I would look at the date of the review, and if it was more than 6 months old I would give it a shot because I know mmos evolve, if anyone relies on a review that is 6 months old they dont know how mmos work and would probably never have played one.

I would rather jump into an estblished mmo than a release one because it has had the time, yes I played this one at release because I wanted to play FFXIV.

Oh and your ramble about tech being better as it goes on doesnt work with games. Most people say that modern games are worse than older ones because they are all about graphics, I am part of these people you dont hear people saying FFXIII > FFIV because its newer, FFIV > FFXIII because the focused on gameplay.

Games dont generally get better because there newer while tech does, I have found games lacking in quality recently because alot of work is put into graphics, and said graphics take alot of storage.

Most see this game as "dead" for the time being. It's obvious we're all betting on the Ps3(Wii:U?) resurrection, so there's nothing we can ultimately do until that time resolves for us (other than talk with the community team).

1.18 was a milestone that set parts of the foundation. A few things created some sparks, but it was mostly boring & upsetting for a few.
1.19 should be most of the completion for the foundation. 1-year mark will come and we'll finally have what should have been in the game. We also get a few new systems on top of that. Will likely, start the milestone for FF14 stabilization.

FF14 is behind & will probably never live up to the vast array of dynamics that plenty of P2P & F2P MMOs provide.
I've never honestly cared if it does or not as long as the game is fun. I can easily go get my "Fix" from those MMOs at any time. It's not that big of a deal for me.
If FF14 had everything every MMO has, it would probably be too annoying dealing with everything.

I have a feeling 1.20 will come in October, They'll announce a micro Expansion that will be included with the PS3 Release and the PS3 Release will be two weeks before Christmas. If this is all true. It means we might see the new Gender choices in 1.20 or 1.21.

I highly doubt the PS3 version will be out before Christmas. My original hopes were 1st quarter of 2012, but even that is starting to look pretty far-fetched. I'm going to go with by the end of next year, that way I will be very pleased if it comes out earlier.

I hope that it does come out ASAP. I have several friends with PS3s just dying to play, but they don't want to fork out the cash to build a PC that can run the game.
