Well, they said he's dead, so most of his part will be finding out how he died and how he actually ended up in Dalamud, which they also said we'd be finding out.
Most possible we will find out how he died ( since it's very interesting, beacuse no one of his brothers are dead as far as we know ). Also how he was able to became a primal ( if he really ended to become a primal, of what we know so far of primal nature, the "primal Bahamut" could just be a clone of the true one )
I have many ideas about what will happen but it would be great if SE could take this mmo outside the box for once and allow us to choose our path and since we are the ones who are always throwing our hero's into the fire. or ice, etc.. we should get to dictate what happens next even. I think it would make for a more riveting story and make us feel more involved. Of course I guess the end gamers who could care less about the lore and story, would ignore it all all and just do what they need to do to get to the final raid, get their best gear then complain about being bored. <_<
I know my previous post was a bit snarky, but I felt a response to the the responses to dragonflie'sa thread were sadly out of place here. They seemed more like end gamer, (could care less about the story), rants then actually addressing the ideas that dragonflie had raised. Which really surpassed me since I rarely see that kind of drivel here in the lore thread.
I am glad this thread got on track though. That concept art makes me think that our scions are really dead and we will be forging on with this new unlikely alliance at some point? Of course we still have to deal with the Brass Blades and gang searching high and low for us, will we end up having to fight them? Or maybe they will just send an assassin after us. Also what happens if and when Ishgard finds out we are talking to Middy. Things are going to get mighty interesting, then oh god oh god we're going to die.
Iceheart has made clear her belief that it is Ishgard in the wrong in this war on several occasions; recall that she was granted an Echo by Midgardsormr that showed her how the war started. Midgardsormr himself has also indicated that Ishgard brought this war on themselves.
Whilst we may initially be defending Ishgard from the Dravanian Horde I think it will only be a matter of time before we discover the truth of the war for ourselves and find ourselves on the wrong side. Given that eventuality I think it would make a great deal of sense that we end up seeking Iceheart for her help. To me the concept art looks like an audience or negotiation of some kind.
Estinien's presence there though is intriguing. His desire to slay Nidhogg has been what drives him ever since he was rescued as a child. For him to entreat the wyrmlord peacefully would indicate a dramatic shift in the circumstances of the war.
My personal opinion is that it will turn out that the Ascians have been manipulating both sides to orchestrate the war for their own ends. I find it hard to believe that Midgardsormr would aid us in the killing of his own children, so whilst we will inevitably fight some of them I expect the story to culminate in some kind of new alliance between Ishgard and Dravania against the Ascians... and potentially Garlemald as well.
Ishgard freely admits that they started this war. The city of Ishgard is pretty much the Temple on the Mount, and the Ishgardians' forefathers are basically the early Israelites going into what's now Jerusalem. >_>Iceheart has made clear her belief that it is Ishgard in the wrong in this war on several occasions; recall that she was granted an Echo by Midgardsormr that showed her how the war started. So, it's going to be interesting to see where the story goes with this.
Do you have a source on this? I don't recall having her mentionned that she went to visit Midgar himself. And from what I understand, Echo is exclusively something from Hydaleyn, not from anyone else.
The rains have ceased, and we have been graced with another beautiful day. But you are not here to see it..
Nidhogg is the one thing that connects Estinien(Azure DRG/connected to Nidhogg), WoL (especially if they're a DRG) and Lady Iceheart (wanted Nidhogg's eye and is allied with Dravanians).
What makes Ishgard important is interesting. For one thing, it seems to be the very close to floating land masses. There might be more to it than that though,
