Wild theory based on another theory that the Dravanians are on Hydaelyn's side...

Tiamat sees that Midgy is with us, and wants to act as a mediator between the scions/ishgard and Nidhogg before the ascians can complete their plans. His brother has gone mad with rage for too long and lost sight of Midgardsormr's pact with Hydaelyn, not realizing that the dragonsong has now escalated her weakness even further.

Something I find curious is the "Twelve Knights" were stated to be an important piece of information.

Twelve Gods...

Twelve Paragons...

Twelve Archons...

Twelve Knights...

... it can't all be a coincidence, can it?

Either way, I'm expecting that we'll find the reason behind the Dragonsong War; it's been lost to the mists of time, but according to Middy it's justified on the Dravanians' part. Perhaps try and find a way to settle it peacefully, though I don't know if that's possible, and reform Ishgard possibly after taking down the Archbishop Assassin's Creed II style (whether he's possessed or being influenced by an Ascian or not). With any luck we'll break Raubahn out of jail, bring down the Monetarists / Lolorito, and reform Ul'dah along the way.

Honestly i hope that image means what i think it does and she becomes part of the crew so to speak. She's my second favorite all time character so far and my favorite already kicked the bucket. I don't know if i can stand another going XD. That whole image looks epic.

It does lead to other theories though about who on which side has been manipulated. An ally like that for the Ascians would be a big help to their goals.

The dragon has the same horns as the one in the Benchmark, so could potentially be an enemy. Other then that, I'm curious to know what are the circonstance for the alliance. Unless she's just guiding us to the dragon instead.


EDIT: Seems like it might be Nidhogg, since there's only 1 eye. Would have though it was the one all chained up in the preview.

I think the alliance will hold together for appearances sake if nothing else. They can't afford to show weakness when Garlemald is preparing for an invasion or Garlemald might smell an opportunity and strike while the city states are unprepared. It might frustrate Limsa Lominsa and Gridania but they still need Ul'dah. If Ul'dah fell Garlemald would have the remaining alliance members divided and unable to easily send support to each other. Remember Ul'dah shares a border with Ala Mhigo that is currently defended by the Immortal Flames.

I think we will have Iceheart as an ally eventually but I'm hoping she gets taken down a peg or too first. She is a little too sure of herself and her perception of the true situation with Hydaelyn is questionable. Regardless of her intentions, summoning a primal worked against Hydaelyn, not for her.
