My Theorycrafting: DRG is the main focus because of the negative stigma it's been given by the community. it became really noticeable once NIN came into the fray and offered their combos which required no positional locations to execute aside from Sneak Attack and Trick attack. However it was because of this that DRG turned into even more of an lolDRG of the XI era. What made things even worse for DRGs was they had lower magical defense compared to other jobs so when it came to coil their defenses couldn't' handle the magical dmg being dealt to them and they were shunned from coil because of their naturally lower magical defense.

They patched away both issues but it still left a negative taste towards DRGs and all this focus on DRG in 3.0 is to hype them back up to the Kain levels of interest rather than being seen as a joke job that isn't worth the time compared to other DD roles.

Unless you can show non-anecdotal proof. The real reason Dragoons are prevalent is because the job hails from Ishgard as far back as 1.0. And Dragoon has always been one of the top DPS contenders prior to their tweaks. Monk also suffered from placement stigma. And DRG in the XI era was lol not because of their dmg output, because even there they were one of the top dps, the stigma came from their problem with acc, something that DRG doesn't really have to worry about (no one really does to the extents of XI did). Personally I don't see the "lolDRG" stigma in XIV at all, in fact its quite the opposite, they hit really hard and BiS DRGs can dish out some really serious numbers. This game is so balanced though no job can really take the top spot and if they do its like saying twin A is older than twin B by 15 seconds.

Ever since DRG got buffed a little - they do pretty well! Sure there are some baddies out there but I agree with you there! Once you got your BiS for drg, they do insane numbers! I like drg because when ur buffs are up and u do that full trust - those numbers are just amazing - usually 2500+! :P

If BLM, WTM and SCH get showcased it will be if we get into the War of the Magi.

To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if both Dark Knight features pretty significantly since corruption within Ishgard will almost certainly be a major plot point. Paladin may make an appearance too since Ul'dah will come back into the story at some point.

I though lolDRG came about because of numerous DRG deaths? I never played XI so I wouldn't know...

That said Ishgard has alot to do with Dragons and Dragoons, so of course Dragoons will getting the special treatment promotion wise. Same thing with Monks if/when we go to Ala Mhigo.

My main and first job is a Dragoon and will always be a Dragoon. Finally now they're getting some good credit lol
