The issue is the males have a heavy brow and almost all the eyebrown and eye shapes have an downward pinned angle. The females have limited options to pull the eyes and eyebrowns in a downward angle which may be the issue you are seeing.

As you can see from that discussion, the male Xaela do have a darker eyeball.
