Au Ra Character Creation Feedback

Love the Au Ra, but PLEASE separate the horns and face! Please!!! Maybe the females could be a little bigger, maybe a muscle tone option for them. They don't make me think fierce dragon race at all but the males do. Females are a bit cutesy

I agree. Giving females the options to be a bit taller and with a muscle slider would help them feel less "cutesy". Also please let us choose horns separately from the face and allow us to change the color of the scales. The horn color clashes with so many armors its not even funny, We should be able to choose the color we want.

True, but if we look at the original CGI artwork they showed...




Here the female has more blue-ish scales than black, and Raen males have brownish scales vs the pure white of females. So a degree of color is genetically possible among them. I think a small pallette should be allowed, with very dark colours for Xaela and very light colours for the Raen.

Also, what about hybrids? Let's take a look at what they did with Miqo'te. The lore says that the leonine tail is characteristic of the Seekers, while the "fluffy" tail is more commonly seen in the Keepers. Yet, Seekers and Keepers were both given the option to use leonine or fluffy tail. This was probably intended to allow us to create hybrids between the two clans. Allowing some -even slight- coloration for the scales (and consequentially the tail), could allow more in-depth customization and the possibility to make Au ra hybrids.

Pretty sure that's the lighting. And "lustrous black" and "brilliant white" doesn't give much room for choice, imo. The way people are going on about wanting to "match" their horns with glamours is weird.

My biggest disappointment is that the Xaela female looked as if she had fins instead of horns when I first saw the pics. Oh well.

All right, here's my feedback to what I think of Au Ra after checking the benchmark.


Females:
- Their voices are mostly atrocious. They can't laugh, and their /no's are too vocal. Their /angry is scary <_< some make me think of harpies.

I disagree. I enjoy the fact that they ALL have completely unique and brusque voices. It's a lovely transition from the "numb tongue", "Challenged", and "Cackling Grandma" voices we have for the old races. Their voices even match up with their emotes perfectly too!

Males:

- Their dance….. what is that….?

Have you ever tried scratching an itch below midriff covered by scales in public? That's what happens.

The female voices don't really fit their size and yes im going to stereotype tiny people have higher pitches. I mean look at lalafells always sounding like they puffed some helium.

You ever heard a 6 foot 3 "Big man on campus" voice on a Lalafell before? It's absolute TERROR.

All in all... WE WANT horn options to be separate from the faces. We want horn sliders too! First and foremost!

Scale color options might be out of the park due to there needing to be a separation between Raen and Xaela.

I think the females are just to short, no other race has such a huge height difference between the men and women.

I don't see why the height difference is that big an issue, but then just between me and my sister there's a bit of a difference. Not as much as the Auri but enough to not see it as bad. Plus it gives them another difference from the other races.

The only downside for myself would be the (like just about 50% of the thread) the horns being tied to the faces, and it isn't that big a deal to me. Probably because I like face 4 for females anyways.

There is no pallet for the scales because it would most likely be lore breaking.
Its a mixed race of all the current races + other stuff(According to the lore) and its shows from their features. I'm not gonna list them all but its mostly obvious which gender gets what traits from each race The most obvious ones being female inheriting lala genes and males inheriting elezen with both inheriting roe skin colors. The scale colors are most likely key traits given to each gender of each clan. Xaela having more dominant genes from the Dusk mother and Raen the Dawn father.
