Why? Gear is meant to be replaced. It's just a stepping stone to allow you to tackle harder content and acquire better gear. We got our relics, our relics served their purpose, and now we're replacing them with something better.

Yes, but if they throw all that out the window, frankly I won't ever bother doing another relic. It's one thing to replace easily acquired tome and dungeon gear, relic is something else. It's so legendary we might as well throw it away? Haha.
If it means so little in HW, I will never trust that a relic quest is worth doing again.
"Just don't do it then!" Yeah, I probably won't. Because apparently "legendary relic" means nothing.
That's just life in MMOs. Every legendary weapon on WoW, which took months to obtain, was replaced by expansion loot, never to be used again. But for the time we used them, they served our purpose. And now we're on to bigger and better things.Yes, but if they throw all that out the window, frankly I won't ever bother doing another relic. What did you think it meant when the level cap was being raised?Yes, but if they throw all that out the window, frankly I won't ever bother doing another relic. When I heard that HW will raise the level cap, I quit my relic grind. We all knew it was coming..
That's the nature of MMOs, you upgrade gear, it becomes obsolete, you upgrade again, rinse and repeat.

Well, they could've made that further upgrading your Relic would also increase it's lvl usage.
So in the end it would've ended up as a lvl 60 weapon.
But we now know that's not the case.
I don't think SE wants to alienate the new players that are starting from scratch by making them go through the relic grind for a lv 50, obsolete weapon when they're lv 60.
Imagine how turned off we would've all been if upon reaching lv 50, before we could start the relic quest, we would have to grind out the 1.0 end-game content for 50+ hours (provided that 1.0 wasn't completely wiped) We can't really have that kind of expectation and 3.0 is much the same way. HW is 3.0 not 2.6

did you honestly expect anything else? To have thought that the ARR relics would remain important or meaningful in HW, no offense, is just delusional. I am working on my third zodiac weapon right now, fully knowing that I'd be replacing them at some point in HW, because, that's what you do in an rpg. You get gear, you replace gear. ESPECIALLY in an MMORPG. Guess what else, I'll be doing the new relic stuff as well. and I'll expect that those will be replaced as well in the expansion after, cuz that's logic.Yes, but if they throw all that out the window, frankly I won't ever bother doing another relic. Let me phrase it like this then...
I feel sorry for those individuals that don't accept this course of actions.
As personally I feel the same way as you.
