Maybe... You can buy a cool looking mask that resembles one of the key tribesman, and in doing so enables you to not get aggro'd by them out in the field. Which also gives you some elemental stat bonuses, depending on the tribe. Considering Amalj'aa are Fire from Ifrit, Ixali are Wind from Garuda, and Kobolds are Earth from Titan, and so on...

I think being able to wear a mask and looking like one of them would be silly but really cool, especially with nice effects like that.

+1 to this. Masks of the different tribes would be excellent, and if they removed aggro it would be even better. They like giving us hats, so I'm all for getting a few more. Of course, with that comes the caveat that I'll need more inventory space to hold all my hats!

With leads to... currency for gobbiebags quests, each of which requires a different beastmen currency! 'Cause I'm a Greedalox.

The dev. team let us know that they are uncertain whether or not Beastmen currency will have any specific use in the future.

It’s up to you if you want to hold onto them or sell them!

Wow if people are getting this mad about the Beastcoin's then I can wait to see the rage when they announce the class changes ^^

The rage hasn't even begun yet. Wait til SE decides they *DO* want to do something with the coins after everyone sells the ones they've been hoarding in a huff.

Hey, sorry to sort of necropost, but with all the developments (beastman encampments, beast coins dropping like crazy) in the past few months, is there any information that I could get regarding these things? They could even be used to purchase small items (elixirs, full hp potions, idk w/e) and I think it would be a shame for them to go to waste.

It seems with the beastman population running amok that there may have been some sort of discussion as to what to do with these items. I think they're pretty cool, but 12 inventory spaces is cool too. ^^

I agree they're easily dropped/NPC'ed (lots of gil may be subjective to you and I), but wouldn't you agree that some sort of cool dynamic could come out of them? I'm willing to save them for a year no matter what the reward, I'd just like a yes/no (not maybe please) so I can move on with my life. The dudes at Netflix aren't accepting ixali willowknots as monthly payment yet :/

Of all the things to complain about, really, this? FFXI had so many weird items people didn't know what they did, NMs no one knew how to pop...one person would find it hard to list them all of the top of their head. What about all the "gray" items in WoW that specifically have no purpose in the game except to sell to NPC vendors?

Just throw the things away or sell them to an NPC. It's not any worse than any of the feathers and vegetables you do the same with because they're not worth selling or making anything out of. There's a lot more in this game worth being annoyed with.

I wholeheartedly agree, but I sort of did the "wait 2 months"(Ruk posted on 6/14) thing so that beast camps can become more prominent and you gotta admit they drop like crazy. I'm not looking for what they will buy or anything, but tbh I really thought they were a sweet idea, each faction having a 3-tiered coin system, and I'd hate to see it go away. If you think 2 months isn't long enough to wait my retainer has all the time in the world but I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone else was thinking along the same lines.

I mean, at some point, there has to be a day where they just decide "yes we will use beastcoins" or "no, let's make beastmen stop dropping them".

But, whatever's clever, not a complaint just curiosity.

Edit: btw they crowned this post 2 months ago so I think it's at least on their minds. You seem really uninformed by the way you talk. Please read threads/ dev posts / producer's letters / patch notes so that you may more fully enjoy the game.
