i can't for the life of me get past 29 cards collected. and i have gone through 20+ gold packs and have got nothing but Momodi every time. spent an entire week farming instances, and several hours here and there playing at NPC's. (i have already finished the Bronze and Silver packs.) i have NEVER once got a card from an NPC. in the end i just can't manage to hit that 30 mark. i am sure i'm not the only out there with such a terrible experience. the deck restrictions are too excessive. either that, increase the chance to get a card from an NPC. i have been trying to get 30 cards since day 1 of the Gold Saucer... so yeah, it's terrible.

there's nothing i can do better. farm an NPC... farm a dungeon... farm MGP... in the end it is all about luck. and us players with the most terrible luck are getting shafted by these restrictions. can increase the reward rate for cards at an NPC. they don't all need an increase, just some of the weaker cards. or revise the restrictions. i am not saying to completely abolish them, and understand their purpose.

Funny thing is, I broke my 30 card limit by buying the Senna Twins card. That's 0% luck and 100% blowing 9,600 MGP. This is what those of us (My self at one time included) who play TCGs IRL put up with every day. "I need one more card to finish my deck" <Opens 800 USD worth of packs> "damn it still no card!" <Guys standing next to you opens one pack and pulls the card you need> "God Damn it".

lmao... i know. and i was just thinking that saving up a crap ton of MGP and buying one of those expensive cards would my last option to hit that 30mark. but it doesn't really do much good when trying to get the 60 card mark. most likely would have had 30 cards by now, if i didn't waste so much MGP on those RIGGED Gold Packs.

all-in-all, i was under the impression this was supposed to be some sort of casual aspect to FFXIV. IMO, a casual goal shouldn't last much longer then a month, intermediate goals like 2~3 months and hardcore goals like 4~6 months. at the moment it feels like Triple Triad is one of the hardcore goals... is just not fun. i don't mind a challenge in collecting the cards, but it shouldn't be so damn difficult to just get on to your feet.

Actually it's the reverse. Since Hard Core content has a power scale that's usually a good bit above the average player then for the elite of elites it only takes a few weeks to crush it (Take Lucrecia for example). How ever casual content is the opposite because it's time scaled to players that intend to take their time instead of rush through it. Thus why the Relic Quest seems to drag on for ever, it's suppose to be more gradual than all at once.

Of course that's from the development perspective. Me personally I think that the balance between "short but too difficult" and "Simple but too long" is vastly skewed against the average player with little to no room on the upper end for solo players and anti-static players (Like me). While at the same time the longer "Casual" content has no room for those who are unable to dedicate an extended amount of time to the game (Like people with jobs and family for example)
