This thread is just so ridiculous to me. "OH NO! A BARE MIDRIFF! IT'S THE END OF ALL TIMES! WOMEN ARE BEING PROPAGATED AS THINGS!"
...... oooor they're very modestly highlighting certain female characteristics that make the armor look good on the gender. And I don't mean attractive, but just "look good". Men and women have different characteristics that make them look good when it comes to clothing. Creating more pronounced shoulders in men, showing off wider chests, hiding hairy bellies etc. And women have their own facets that are amplified by their clothes. There's a reason a woman won't/doesn't look as good in the same clothes a man wears; it wasn't designed for her. (It's why your local department store has a mens and a womens section).
So when I see these threads where people are clamoring for their female character to wear EXACTLY what a man wears, I shake my head in disappointment. If you want to play as a girl and look like a dude because you think it's more respectful, then just get a male character with long hair, problem solved.
Seriously.
You're basically asking for armor that squashes every trace of femininity from the character, so why not just NOT be a female. If you want to play as a girl and actually be able to tell that you're a girl, ask for armor that's tailored for the female body.
I find it supremely lazy when the game DOESN'T change the armor a bit between the genders. Have you seen the Gerolt Tank Armor? In what universe does that look good on anyone but a male? I'm not saying it had to show off skin, but modifying it to suit the female form so she doesn't look like a trashcan with shoulders the size of boulders, manly Pecs and a 6-pack would have been nice (all very good looking aspects for a man). You can change form without sacrificing function.
I play a female character so I can look feminine AND kick ass at the same time. Not so I can imitate the male form, suppress all femininity, and still claim to have shapely hips and a pair of knockers buried away somewhere.
