Crossovers: Yea or Nay?

I wouldn't mind one via Kingdom Hearts if it also included Star Wars, there's so much potential seeing Vader with a bunch of other FF villains in the throne room of the Death star.

Otherwise I'd be ok with a FF only cross over if its not forced, and in an area similar to what the inside Atomos was meant to be in FFXI or some version of that void Gilgamesh is associated with. (if its all the same Gilgamesh in many of the titles).

FINALLY someone else who seems to hate Kingdom Hearts at least as much as I do! I never understood the appeal of this game...

Final Fantasy... Star Wars crossover? Oh your god, no. I don't so much mind crossovers, or better yet, simple nods to the older Final Fantasy games. But throwing Star Wars into the mix is just... No. What's next? Marvel? Yeah, let's do a Final Fantasy/Avengers crossover...

I'm actually a little disappointed we didn't get a Type-0 HD event. Come on Square Enix, those Class Zero uniforms look awesome.

Hildibrand is mostly about cameos and there's those other special events.

I'm not a fan, but cross-overs cameos are here to stay

I want FF14 to be unique on it's own, like the rest of FF series. The only thing I allow for cross-over is Gilgamesh, which he already did. XD

If in regards to Gilgamesh you're referring to how he can cross into other worlds via the void, then he is far from the only character that could do crossovers.

Dissidia laid a lot of groundwork for crossovers with the story revealing that powerful gods of the FF series are able to create their own dimensions, and even create "clones" of people from other worlds. Also it was revealed they don't have complete control over either of these, since even though the rejected clones were banished to the void, the villains in Dissidia were still able to find a tear in the world, then bring them through (although this was mostly exacerbated by ex-deaths intimate knowledge of the void).

So who's to say we couldn't have crossovers by way of clones from the dissidia universe that are "nearly" complete, but still were banished to the void, finding a way through one of the many portals to the void in the FFXIV world?

Personally I enjoyed the crossover events that we have had. The only thing I don't enjoy is when they repeat that very same crossover event again, and again, and again. That takes away from it's special-ness.

Should keep them as one-time only events that go on for long enough that anyone that wants to participate can (like a month or so) and then it's over. If you weren't playing at the time, that's your fault or your unfortunate reality.

I just don't like to see special events like this happen more than once. Once is enough per event.

The only problem with cross over events in FFXIV is that they need to make sense as to why they are happening because this game is actually a serious fantasy title and takes it's lore seriously. I absolutely loved the way they did the Dragon Quest, FFXI and FFXIII:LR cross over events, as they were able to pull them off and still have them fit in with the world of FFXIV. So as long as they can manage that with other potential titles, then I'd be all for it. It's fun stuff

I'm already a big fan of Gilga since FF5 day back on SNES. Though... thanks for additional insight from Dissidia series. ^^
