Now we know why SE not allow player to use 3rd party add-on, to prevent from exploitation.
But some player still able to surpass that. Can you imagine later when BOT participate in PVP and being killed by them?

If add-on are available most of PC user will have extra advantage because there will be bunch of add-on that can boost PC player, like auto-gather, 1 button skill and so on. I think that's why parser is not implemented yet.

Changing blacklisting to being account based and not just character based would do a great deal. There are so many gillsell accounts that have multiple characters with one letter off hear and there.

If someone blacklist a player I don't see them caring if the blocked person is on a different character it's still the same person behind the keyboard. This of course can lead to abuse if someone (a normal player) wishes to clean up their act but are blacklisted by a large portion of players. However to get that they'd have to of been a major douche to begin with.

Pretty much this. It's always been this way with SE though, I'm honestly not sure why I keep expecting anything different. I mean, there is a what? 56 or something plus paged thread, complaining about RMT and we have still not gotten an official response from them. They don't care is the message that they are sending.

If you have to do it over, and over, and over, and over, and over again and there is no other way to go about it, then yes, it can well be perceived as torture. A drop of water on the forehead by itself isn't torture, but if you keep getting a drop on your forehead over and over for an extended period of time, it's one of the worst tortures possible I'm told. And FFXIV's RMT problem is more like a bathtub being poured over us on a daily basis.

Trial accounts would be pretty useless to gil sellers. They can't be used for spam since trial accounts are blocked from /tell, /shout, and /yell. And they can't farm gil because they don't have access to Trade, the Market Board, or to FC chests, so would have no way to pass their gil or items to either customers or alternate accounts of their own. The gilsellers are using paid (though in some cases stolen) accounts.

(Besides, this problem has been rampant here since long before the Free Trial program was created.)

Still doesn't answer why the Friend requests don't go away regardless. They should work like party or FC invites. Someone can invite you to a party or FC and you have a certain timeframe in which to accept or the invite times out. It seems that Friend invites never time out. If it were a legitimate player you were wanting to Friend, you'd have accepted when it was sent (or a few minutes later if you were busy). There's no reason for the invite to still be around an hour later, let alone a week or more later.

That glitch pales in comparison to SE's refusal to accept "No" as an answer to the invite, though.

This. A Thousand times over. It should be very simple to see who has a few troll reports or even a couple dozen vs. the RMTs who would have 100s of reports every day. Every other MMO uses this technique. Where is this option?

OP was citing that friend requests lasting a week was a sign of SE slacking (i.e. that the characters weren't being dealt with). My point was that the character being banned wouldn't necessarily make the friend request go away, just like it doesn't turn their name to (Deleted) in your blacklist. Characters that show up as (Deleted) are those that the RMT's themselves have deleted. Banned characters just sit there in banhammer limbo.

I agree with you that friend requests should expire after a given amount of time, and we should be able to refuse them with a single click, but that was kind of tangential to what I was saying in my original reply.

Someone in my FC accidentally accepted a Friend request from an RMT bot, guess what happened next... lots and lots of spam via Moogle Mail lol. I don't know how long he was receiving it after he accepted the request and before he caught on, he didn't know he'd accepted a bot's friend request and when he mentioned getting a lot of spam via Moogle Mail I made the connection and sure enough there was a bot sitting in his friends list.
