It's only possible to get a DoH class from 1-20 in 2 hours, if you have every last material for every recipe. After lvl15, the guild merchant wont be carrying a lot of materials you need, so you end up needing to farm/gather.

SO you'll have to get all of those first, oh and the crafting log wont level you all the way to 20 on its own either.

My first class took 1-2 months to get to 50. Wasn't powering through it and skipped most of the text, but had no idea what I was doing. Leveling classes after by running dungeons and fates, I usually go 1-50 in about 10 days. The first one will take a while longer for reasons mentioned above - perhaps people forget what it's like playing the first time around but I'd be surprised if someone did it in a week, unless they're not doing much else! I'm leveling an alt character now for RP and to read the story, but as I know what to expect (and leveling tips) I've got to level 16 in a few hours easily. I think it'll take about 2 weeks? Will come back and update this if I'm way off, haha. I'm also leveling a DoH on the alt (BSM and ARM coincidently) and it's taken about 3-4 hours to get to level 20 BSM. I don't know how people did it in two hours.

Crafting gets expensive quite quickly. It'll take a little while to level the first class up, so it might be easier to work on once you've done your first battle class to 50. If you do want to get into crafting, as a general tip: the DOH classes have abilities that help each other out, which is why most people who get into crafting end up leveling them all. Getting all the crafting classes to level 15 early on to get your first cross class abilities will be really helpful towards making HQ items, and it's cheap to do! I wish I did it before leveling my first class, makes a huuuge difference. You can get nearly all the materials needed from the supplier in the guilds.

I'm rambling now. Hope you're enjoying the game! Don't worry too much, you're doing great.

My first class took much longer than a week. You'll get an experience bonus for all other classes after you level your first though. That will help you level other classes faster. You'll also start leveling faster as you start getting into dungeons. I usually get a level per dungeon and those don't take long.

If you skip the text you can get to 50 in about three weeks, I think I read half of the text playing 0-3 hours a day for three weeks to hit 50. Also, since I'm at work and sleeping majority of my day when I do play those 1-3 hours I had a ton of rested exp. With the rested exp I could do a dungeon and a couple fates/quests and lvl 2-3 lvls till about lvl 45. Then at lvl 45 it was about one lvl per day playing 1-3 hours. Also, I was bare minimum when I hit 50. Only one cross class at lvl 15, which only took 3 hours to get to 15, just doing fate fate fate with a couple quests mixed in there. I had no crafting leveled up too. Shoot this past sat it took me 2-3 hours to get bsm to lvl 15 but a part of those hours was understanding and learning how to craft.

Thanks for all of the responses.

To those saying to ignore crafting until I get one combat class to level 50, how can I get upgrades otherwise? I got some tanking gear from level 15 quests, but I haven't seen any since (which is why I started leveling armorer). My weapon is from my level 15 class quest still. Maybe I just hit an odd patch of quests, but it felt like I wasn't getting the right gear from them.

You lvl to quick to worry about armor and at 22 I wouldn't worry that it is way under lvl. I think I wore green lvl 15 armor till 25. Then every 5 lvls the town your in will sell armor your lvl. In dungeons you don't make much of an impact because most likely your in there with people lvl 50.

Also, at that lvl you're running the dungeon once till lvl 50 because they throw a dungeon at you every 2-3 lvls.

Yeah I didn't worry about gear while leveling my first class. My item level was usually around 8 or 9 levels behind my class level.

It's possible to get a secondary class to 50 within a week with a lot of hard grinding, but even on a secondary, it's not something that will happen in casual play. On your first class, which also has the main storyline to deal with (a lot of XP comes from that, but it also takes quite a bit of time), and doesn't have the Armoury bonus that speeds up later classes, it's going to take a few weeks at least. A month or two is probably most common, and it can take a lot longer than that if you're also doing other stuff (like leveling crafting).

The time estimates on DoH vary widely largely because it depends on how much you're actually doing yourself. If someone else did all your crafting for you and all you did was the turn-in step of a whole bunch of crafting leves, then sure, that turn-in step can be done really fast. If, on the other hand, you count the time spent to actually do the crafting itself, let alone the gathering time for all the materials, then DoH leveling is pretty time-intensive. (Leveling combat classes is also sped up dramatically if you have a team that will carry you, but not as much as DoH is.)

Leveling the other classes should go faster once you know what you are doing. Guildhest roulette can definitely be done daily, most guildhests take only a few minutes and is a good exp bonus for the time put in, you will also be able to get a decent amount of GC seals from guildhests with which you can buy gear.

Also I know the other posters are saying not to worry about gear, however you are playing a tank class which means gear is gonna be more vital to you, especially after lvl 30. DPS can kinda get away with wearing lvl 15 gear in a lvl 30+ dungeons, tanks can't. If you dont have time to farm the dungeons for tank drops and can't afford the gear on the MB maybe ask someone in your FC/LS to make gear for you because once the dungeons start getting harder it will be a lot harder for you to hold hate/stay alive if you are vastly undergeared.
