This is something I'd like to try sometime; but unfortunately finding 8 WARs decked in twinked out gear for FL Secure on Cactuar's Maelstrom likely isn't going to happen.

Were you able to tell what their strategy was- did they manage to cap and hold most of the flags... also did they get main node at mid or ignore it in favor of having the most flags, for longest?

This almost makes me want to go PvP again. I've encountered healer-less teams before, they weren't bad at all.

We did 7 tank 1 DPS B-team in 72 Secure once. We won.

Coordination is an understatement. They attack and move almost like a multi boxer pvper would. I am not saying that is what happen. But when they move in such a tight formation and attack only 1 target at a time it isn't something most pugs could do. Also a pain to kill with the War aoe heal/buff.

Capping flags was probably their greatest strength. 7 or 8 of them usually zerged a flag and overtook it, sometimes without even having to kill the defenders because all they had to do was have more players in the cap zone than there were defenders. It was difficult to defend against them by killing them because they were all tanks. They also focus dpsed single targets and chained stuns in a very coordinated fashion. When it was time to kill the node, I was only 1 of 2 people on my team to go mid, and from the heliodrome staircase I was able to witness the warriors alternating between dpsing node and attacking/stunning the mael team. And yes, they got the node too.

Ah yeah, I once got into a full dps group who refused to change to healer ( same with me. ), we ended up winning with no death, and got battle high too. It was an amazing experience, bards new when to use their lb's effectively and the blm used the LB's and timed them together which kept the enemies away from us.

Does the picture not suggest they swapped jobs? Probably between healer and tank throughout and finishing on a mass tank offensive.

It's possible and I can't disprove that they swapped jobs at a certain time during the match. However, every time I saw them they were 7-8 warriors deep.
