If you were to bring 'realism' into this why wouldn't a mage wear armor exactly? one of the healer sets has a hefty amount of armor, especially on the arms and hands, and as someone mentioned the ishgardian conjurers wear the same armor as the other knights do.

My point is how is it that 'immersion breaking' for a mage to wear armor? Some more robe/armor mixes would be nice but i see no issue in being a little less restrictive. Not saying they need the noct set or anything but I see no harm in the chain sets or lower level plate sets being available. Heads, hands and feet should really be available to all in most cases imo.

As much immersion breaking as it is to see a tank in robes or casual clothes or bikinis, which already happens. I see no point in being so strict with glamouring.

Yep, not immersion breaking at all really. Mages I think some should wear plate armor.

I think the only "restrictions" should be on bikinis and such.

it's also not unprecedented either for mages to wear heavy armor, Papalymo wears heavy armor gauntlets.
