    WTF happened to Shiva EX!!??

I don't have the full version of Fraps so my records only last for 29sec. >.<
This happened to me this morning. Shiva was standing still the whole trial, didn't attack or do anything. At 38% Shiva changed to phase 2, I thought she was back to normal. But right after that, she stood there again!! Has this thing happened to anyone or any other trials before? (Sorry for bad English)

You can say that Shiva was....Frozen *Put glasses on*

Should drop this in the Bug section of the forums. Seems something broke here, but with 30 second snippets it's kinda tough to pinpoint (if possible to pinpoint) what could have happened.

Your monk asking for TP in a broken fight that has no repercussions is priceless though

Did you try re-queuing afterward to see if it would happen again? Could've been a load on the instance.

Also if this happened to me, being a healer I would not be DPSing ... I would run in front of her and /mdance while she slowly died. Maybe even throw in some Manderville Poses for fun as well.

Live letters in the past have asked that if any boss becomes immobile and stops attacking, to leave the instance. You should not kill the immobile boss. Similar things happened with Titan and Twintania upon release.

You are aware people got BANNED for doing this against Twintania and Titan when they came out, right? They've stated multiple times in the past not to kill a immobile boss, and they've also shown they're more than willing to ban players who take advantage of it. I'm not sure they'd do it for a incredibly easy fight like Shiva, but they have shown consistency in the past in dealing with people who exploit bugs in the game.

But then those people would be punished for exploiting something that becomes known. There is nothing wrong if something occurs by accident, once. But then if people purposely find and try to initiate the exploit then it becomes a problem.

The only time it would be ok to purposely initiate and exploit is to help the developers discover what's causing the issue and of course the group of people who would take the time to do that would not complete the fight only test and see why this issue may be occurring.

This is you, making stuff up based on your opinion. They've gone on the record saying if a boss becomes immobile for ANY REASON to stop attacking and leave the instance. You really want someone to get a world first in the latest raid because the boss spazzed out on accident, once?

And no, they have also said this is not an excuse, to just report that the issue happened. They have their own QA team that can research and find the cause of problems.

Yes, that is what they expect. If there is a gamebreaking bug, you are expected to report it and not exploit it. Otherwise, as Noah mentioned, you can and will be banned for doing so.

It's not like this is a new concept. Blizzard has long held this stance (you were expected to contact a GM and have them reset the boss or even the entire instance), and Square Enix has made it known since the beginning.

NO. You NEVER purposefully exploit something for ANY reason. You don't get to play pretend QA. Immediately report it and leave the instance.

    Just playing devil's advocate here.

What if this bug happened in, say, Ramuh - where there is no way to kill yourself? You'd have to either kill Ramuh, or force a disconnect (which might not even work), since you can't leave the instance while in combat. A GM might not be able to respond within the time limit, and that's an awful lot of time wasted if it happened near the start.
