I mean... We're almost two months away from a release and we have yet to receive any kind of specific information concerning the expansion.
What are the actual abilities of these new jobs?
What are the new abilities for current jobs?
Are we getting a dungeon akin to Crystal Tower again?
What exactly are the new rules for the new version of Frontlines?
Why did the class system get dropped for the new jobs? Will it be dropped completely in the months coming?
What are the new crafting abilities and what kind of implications does "specializing" have?
What are the new LB3s for each of the jobs?
What are their current plans for housing as far plots and wards go? Do they plan to add more to meet the high demand?
What exactly are "high level levequests" - what makes them different from a normal levequest?
What have they learned from 2.0 - 2.55 about FATE design and how is it improved in 3.0 from the total zerg fest that it once was?
What other primals, if any, are to be introduced with the expansion?
Will we be able to join one of the four great houses of Ishgard?
What exactly are Grand Companies for, aside from Frontline teams? Will they be expanded upon in 3.0 and how?
I can't be the only one asking these questions, and it's not like they have to tell me everything all at once, but maybe a heavier stream of information might help. I'm incredibly excited for the expansion, I just wish I could back up my claims as to why.
Most of my conversations go like this;
Me - "Hey guyz, did you hear that FFXIV is getting an expansion?! I'm super excited!"
Friend - "Oh really? What all are they adding?"
Me - "New jobs! Flying mounts! And they're even increasing the level cap!"
Friend - "Oh cool! What do the new jobs do?"
Me - "I don't actually know, one tanks, one does damage, and the other heals."
Friend - "Oh, that's cool. What about the flying mounts? What kind of mounts are they adding and what level can I ride one?"
Me - "Uhhhh... There's a Griffin if you buy the collector's edition, and I saw a dragon. And I don't know what level you can ride one or what you have to do actually..."
Friend - "Ah, okay, well what about the new level cap? What cool abilities is everyone getting."
Me - "... No idea..."
See? There's a lot of topics that I want to talk about and tell people about, but I have nothing to keep the conversation going. It's like gnawing on a chicken bone. Sure, you can kind of taste the chicken, and it feels like you're eating something; but you're not, because there is no real meat to chew on. GIVE ME SOMETHING TO CHEW ON DARN IT!
