Sky, Sea, NMs, and HNMs were all some of the worst, most frustrating and un-fun aspects of FFXI. If FFXIV doesn't have such things, I'd call that a success.

It doesn't really have players either and it's clear you haven't touched FFXI since at least 2005, NMs are actually some of the most fun things to do in FFXI now especially given how everyone seem to like great rewards for little work in this generation of MMO gamers lol.
yeah and at moment though most mmo's are failing but a lot of them least trying to be the "wow killer" or trying to be number one, if they keep failing ...witch is cause they listen to complainers in my opinion. then they will probably say screw it, copy paste, make mmo's that fall apart in a year or 2 but not add the resources, make there money and let it die out.. planned obsolescence for mmo's lmao...It doesn't really have players either and it's clear you haven't touched FFXI since at least 2005, NMs are actually some of the most fun things to do in FFXI now especially given how everyone seem to like great rewards for little work in this generation of MMO gamers lol.

Actually, try 2009. At least, that's when I stopped playing FFXI seriously. I still check back in occasionally, and I've done a few quests in Abyssea, but I don't pretend to be an expert on how things have changed in the past two years. It doesn't really have players either and it's clear you haven't touched FFXI since at least 2005, NMs are actually some of the most fun things to do in FFXI now especially given how everyone seem to like great rewards for little work in this generation of MMO gamers lol.
Though unless something about NMs has recently changed in a dramatic way, I don't see how they could be considered "fun."

I hope you do realize whats "Fun" for one person may not be "Fun" for another. I found camping NM's extremly fun, NM's mind you not HNMsActually, try 2009. It has nothing to do with competetiveness, it has to do with connection quality, retarded repop times, bots, and of course RMT doing everything they can to kill you throughout the fight. You seriously think there arn't better ways to implement LS competition and rare drops than waiting hours on end for nothing, day after day?clearly its not your cup of tea, but others liked it. If you hated it so much back then...why did you do it? Hell why would you do it if it got added here? Your not competitive and want the best gear do you O.o
EDIT: Another point I want to make, "others liked it." Yea some people, a small fraction of the population. Most people werent even able to get involved in the top linkshells that dominated these spawns. It was content available to less than 3% the player base. I'm a fan of strategizing with big groups to take down HNMs, but I would hope you see the difference between the amount of ppl who killed Kirin with those that killed KB. One was fun and something to look forward to, the other was completely unreasonable. With some of the sky pop NMs, even that was unreasonable. Maybe you have a blank schedule but not everyone can farm for hours on end during the week, REQUIRED to keep your LS, for some fights on the weekend, were you just watch the ppl with no lives who have 50x your points take all the loot anyways.
