I don't think that's the main reason.
People used to quit all things. As soon as something isn't easy sail quitters showed up. It had been this way since 2.0. The 30 minutes may aggravate the situation, but the main reason is still that people who are used to 5 min primal facerolls feel that anything longer than 10 minutes is a waste of time.
Personally I welcome it in the trial roulette. People who just want to faceroll content just have to forgo the little bonus. It's a minimal bonus anyway.
