New Jobs Gated Behind Completion of 2.0 Story?

I have a question for all those that say it is okay that the jobs are locked behind Ishgard and it is good lore to have new players have to complete the MSQ up to current to access them:
IF we are going to use the story and lore to make the claim that new players would not know about the new classes, why are we that are current on the story allowed to wander through Thanalan and Ul'dah (and Mor Dhona) unchallenged? According to the lore we are now at the very least hunted by the peace keeping forces in those areas.

The Devs made a decision about how to access the classes. They are the Devs they get to make that decision, weather you and I agree or disagree. To have people cloak it in lore and fudge other parts is a hypocritical to me.
Just a thought and question.

I do so wish we had at least the rising stones to go smack around some crystal braves. That would just put a smile on my face, plot nonsense be damned.

I also think having the new jobs be behind ishgard with the story in the way isn't a good idea. It looks like a bait and switch.
