WTB video of you as a healer tanking a set of adds in More Than a Feeler. It's cool. I'll wait. Meanwhile, you can respond to the other five examples I gave. And maybe explain how Hero on the Halfshell is oh-so-different from the faces in Qarn.

That was something I was going to point out, after having a discussion with a friend. Here's hoping SE will put gameplay ahead of plot when that time comes around.Final thoughts on this seeing as it's just going to go round in circles.
New jobs being locked behind Ishgard and the main story is IMO dumb, really dumb. They could get round it in any number of ways and the game already has plenty of examples of gameplay taking precedence over the storyline, however if they insist on it I think they can just about get away with it for this expansion. If they gate the next set of jobs behind completing 2.0 and completing 3.0 though they are really shooting themselves in the foot.
Try that on a new world with a new character with no buffs or gil and see how much fun it is. Unfortunately you have the benefit of understanding how the game is played unlike a new player. What's with you and then ilvl90 business? I had to start BLM fresh out the box just yesterday after pumping junk on DRG I wouldn't use much in the end.
Here's how to become ilvl 80 in a few days flat.
1. You get your AF gear, buy some accessories, go roll CT. Get Ilvl 80 gear.
2. Go to ST. Ilvl 100. Hell even between then you can buy some items 100/110/120 from Rowena and co. Do EXP roul. get Acc's/gear for i100.
There you're done. I mean they throw soldiers in your face at this point. Gearing 1 job to i120 is nothing now thanks to the unlocks of WoD.
That's true, and they made gearing slightly more difficult after the removal of i90 gear from the hunts: I remember once telling my sister "just do the weekly hunt, get 50 seals, and grab the coat: that's a steady upgrade". But after that being removed I had no advice on how to gear up, except for paying high priced NQ (not HQ) i90 equipment or wait 30+ minutes on queueing dungeon (no roulette: you need to complete all of the dungeons before I can do that).
I think hunts are still the best means to gear up. It's a steady source of Soldiery/Seals. Labyrinth of Ancients is generally too awful to do for more than the unlock. The main goal seems to be gear to i70 to get to Syrcus Tower then spam that to death till you get all i100 armor and then go spam World of Darkness for 120 armor. Somewhere along the way you should have enough Soldiery and poetics for the accessories and maybe a UAT weapon. That's true, and they made gearing slightly more difficult after the removal of i90 gear from the hunts: I remember once telling my sister "just do the weekly hunt, get 50 seals, and grab the coat: that's a steady upgrade". You know I left this forum last night on a good note by thanking you for our conversation. So let me get something straight. You have nearly played this game for a month correct? Everybody who has tried to have some sort of dialogue with you has been systematically slandered by you. Your comments are abrasive and you insight anger. Your tone if there is such a thing in text is borderline toxic at best. People have tried to reason with you and you still fight back. So hear it is...your the new guy a lot of us have been playing this game near 2+ years. A lot of us have different opinions then you do. I have given you facts others have given you facts and we have also given you opinions.
Instead you trash them and tell them how they are wrong. So there is a trend and the trend is your the one wrong not us. We have tried to convey to you through suggestions what we think of the game and what it has to offer. So say what you would like about me after this post I really don't care. In the end you will either still play this game or leave and find something better. People like you are more the problem then you are the solution. Instead of being so abrasive why can't you see things from other peoples points of views instead of saying their statements are complete BS. They call conversations like this a debate for a reason.
For you to talk down to everybody when you are the new person is just a selfish act and shows your inability to accept that others have a different view then you. I will state one more time the Tutorial tool in this game is bar none one of the better tutorials. I played EQ since its inception and I can assure you we didn't have a tutorial when it first launched we were tossed into the game and and told to have a great day. Also Eve Online until recently had one of the worst Tutorials a game had to offer....that is right they didn't have one. So take our advice and differences for whats its worth, but at least have the audacity to admit when you are clearly wrong. Thanks have a good day, and I hope you find what it is you are looking for.

Personally, I don't agree: hunts are meant to be a group activity, and it's very hard now to do them solo or with a group that isn't a complete one.Originally Posted by Leknaat

On the other hand, remember that this is the perspective of a new player: will he want to actually "spam to death" syrcus tower, to get his 100 gear "just" to get ishgard? No matter the amount of help or the amount of "easyness" he might get after the expansion: that's pretty much pointless busy work just to reach the expansion's zone, busy work that might discourage them to go further.
Eve Online has always had tutorials, for the last half a decade at least. Fair enough up until recently they were admittedly terrible, but they've had at least something for quite a while now.
Appreciate the correction. I started Eve in 2007 as I recall the only thing they did for us back then was send us out to mine a asteroid and fight a ship....terrible yes......again thanks for the correction.
I have...we all have before when we started this game...The game hands you stuff out like cake by now. Newbies have it much easier than what we had done back in 2.0 +.
The only thing I said there that you needed a bit of gil there is the accessories to help you enter CT and I also said, I started BLM fresh...I had never saved any BLM gear, period...sepct i100 necklace I got on accident.
You don't need much Gil unless repairs and by then people should have a good amount. Need weapon at 50 but can't do relic yet? I looked just now, a ton of i52 is about 6k or 15k or less so here in Balmung.
So dump a few k to get your foot in the door.
[Sell those little Allagan coins you get. It racks up.]
I've done most of this game by myself with no friends or FC. It's very much possible and easy.
