People say we can't have the new jobs without completing the main storyline to 2.55 because we would be spoiled. Then the trailer is a big spoiler in itself (I have not seen it, but I will take your word for it). I'll bet you there will be a lot more people being spoiled by the trailer, which only purpose is to get people to play, but apparently that is fine. Compared to giving people who want a chance to play the job they want early in the storyline, which actually effects the gameplay experience hugely. That however is a big nono. Funny how that works.

Guy with and axe in the snow? Who is pink midget?
    Oh she died!?
Oh big guy lost his arm? Is he bad?
    Midget smirking. Is he bad?
Guy with axe running away. Guy with axe getting shit burnt by dragons.
    Oh spikey guy with lance.
Oh axe man goes and gets a lance. Oh hey airship.
    Oh shit more dragons.

OOOH AXE MAN LOOKS COOL IN NEW GEAR AND WITH SPIKEY LANCE FRIENDS.

    Hurrrr.

My point is it only spoils people that are well into the story but not finished - which is exactly why it comes with a spoiler warning. It's great action packed advertisement to someone with no knowledge of the game.
    Amazing. Exactly my thoughts.
Again, I'll join the people stating: It's only going to ruin it for people who play at the moment and have yet to finish.

I don't think I've ever seen someone say that.
The real reason is that all 3 job quests start in ishgard. There's no spoilers involved in the 3 jobs, they're just gated content so they don't have to pull an excuse out of their ass as to why there are suddenly machinists, astrologians, and dark knights running around in the three main cities, especially since
    We're technically fugitives.

Since there's been literally no reference to any of these professions before now (no, there has not been a reference to the playable Astrologians. The dev team explained that the ones diddling around in Coerthas are different from the ones we'll get, even using different kanji in Japanese), it makes sense that they appear in the closed off Ishgard.

I think they mean something different by that.
Spoiled = A child getting anything they want and not being appreciative of it.
Spoiler = A published piece of information that divulges a surprise, such as a plot twist in a movie.

Just want to point out, the Dragoon questgiver is in Coerthas and there are Astrologians at the Observatorium, whether they're the same ones as the job or not or not (they literally wear sugarloaf hats and study the stars, it's the same thing just this one has an star globe and can heal things or whatever). Curious Gorge, who teaches the Warrior arts, is from the mountains and swings his axe under a waterfall in Costa Del Sol farrrr away from his homeland. I don't know why the jobs are in Ishgard (if they are), but it's not simply because they're native practices and can't be shoved elsewhere. I guess it could just be that they want you to finish the story and play their new content, but that's just a guess.

I suggest you show your non-playing friends the 2.0 official trailer instead of the Heavensward trailer, because that's still going to be what they play through first if they decide to try the game out at all.

Why are there always players that expect content catered to their exact needs and wants? Any logical thinking adult can stop the video at the spoiler warning if they are that concerned about spoilers. That video was meant to be showed to current players. There are a lot of amazing trailers and videos to get your friends interested, why does it have to be THAT one?

Those are Astrologists. While they essentially share the same ideal, Astrologians and Astrologists are very different professions; the first is the combat specialist, designed to aid in battle and restore vigor. The second is an occupation, something chosen either of interest or a necessity to earn money for their wife and ten children. After all, you can't say Arcanists and mathematicians/book-keepers in the reception are the same, can you? But they use the same geometric glyphs to work their magicks.

And before you hassle me about Arcanists and book-keepers being in the same guild, I would like to point out that the JOBS (Summoner and Scholar) are in a totally different zone. In fact, only four Jobs have their quest giver in the same CITY of their Class Guild; BLM, MNK, SCH, PLD. Only PLD is in the same zone as GLA, and that's stretching it considering you need to climb a level in Ul'dah to reach the NPC. SMN is also the oddity that it is not in the region of it's base Class. But keep in mind what I say below...

You also make a good point. Curious Gorge is from the mountains, and comes to US. The three new jobs are different. We are going to Ishgard. Think about Ishgard. Up until 2.55, their secrecy is more secure than a nun's virginity. In no manner of way are they going to let their arts of combat slip out the front doors for the rest of Eorzea to drink on. Dragoon was different because the then-only Azure Dragoon essentially rebelled and escaped outside, causing a need for an outsider to help out. If you're trying to tell me that all three jobs should have someone 'rebel' against their teachings and come out into Eorzea to teach the ways, you have worse story-telling than Stephanie Meyers.

Its the trailer for the actual expansion not the preview trailer that was released awhile ago. It also says "there are main story spoilers". So I guess if you can't read (how can you play the game then?) Something might be spoiled if your arent using your head and watch it anyways I guess. Otherwise just don't watch it and find the other one. Use some common sense.
