So I queued for The Lost City of Amdapor for an animus book, and after over half an hour of waiting it pops. Keep in mind I'm a Dragoon. Okay, so once inside everything is going great, but then on first boss when we had it down to around 5%, the tank ended up dying as he started running from the boss. This was after the healer had died. Both the Monk and I finished the boss and of course waited for the others after they respawned at start. About 20 secs later screen goes black and I get the message in chat "You have been dismissed from both the party and the duty." I was shocked. There was never anything said about anything in chat during the entire run. I have been playing since beta and have never had this happen even once in the history of the game. In fact this has never happened in my 15 year history with MMOs. And no this was not a case of me doing something wrong. Easy boss. Done a million times. Avoid the AOEs including the toxic puddles. Whenever it swallows a party member, attack that part to free the party member, then back to boss. Even worse the tank was not a very good one as he kept the boss in the toxic puddles for a good 10 secs before moving boss out so melee DPS could do their thing. So I stood outside the toxic puddle until he did. What's even more strange is that to kick, others would have to agree to the dismissal. Ironically, after searching the players, they are all from same FC. This whole thing is so bizarre I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone, or they intentionally do this for giggles or trolling and I'm not the first. The long queue combined with this has made me lose my desire to play the game. What kind of scum does something like that, especially to DPS that they know probably waited over half an hour to get in, and would have to spend another half hour or longer getting in?

Is there any way to message a player from another server? I'm on Leviathan. They are on Malboro.

Just gonna say real quick that calling people out by name is a no-no on the forums. Just throwing that out there for your sake.

The best advice I could give though is probably just to report those players if you feel they abused the vote kick function. Other than that, I wouldn't suggest trying to message them in any way so as not to escalate the situation. Take the high road

Remove their names. No naming and shaming/witch hunts on the forums.

I don't think there is a way to message them, though I could they are on my server. But you better remove those names from your post just for this reason. Its against the law of the land.

How is that DPS's fault when someone else gets eaten? DPS does not choose who it targets. DPS simply depletes the HP of the mouth so it releases who it ate, aka focus on that. The first time it ate someone was me and you can't DPS while eaten, then it ate healer. When it ate the healer someone put a marker on its mouth so people know to target it. I already had it targeted and attacking when the mark went up. I always switch to mouth moment it eats someone.

Sorry to hear. However, as everyone has stated. Take the names off, it'll be bad for you.

The only way I can see the healer dying is he/she was sucked inside the boss and dps was low on the mouth. I'm not sure what your dps was like or if it took awhile for you to start dpsing the mouth but that might be one reason. Another reason would be that the those guys heard that another dps from their FC needed to do that dungeon so they kicked to get that person in. OR perhaps low dps in the dungeon (even on trash) and they wanted to get through it quick and FC dps was willing to get them through faster.

I don't know, lots of reasons they would do this. Only thing you can really do is report them (if you feel this was unfair to you) and move on. I know it sucks to wait 30 min but, and I say this as I main NIN, that's just par for the course.

I don't think that contacting them would help or solve anything. There are only a few reasons why they have done it. Either you did something bad, they did something bad and rather blamed you or they were trolls.

Next time report them ingame for abusing votekick and explain the situation to GM or let it be. You will meet good players, you will meet bad players (I don't mean bad as noobs but bad in behavior).
