I disagree. I think it's Elzen and Roe in terms of musculature and height.

You can always be Roe or Highlander. Their bodies could be a pinch bigger on the sides though. Everything else I think is fine.
Well, Roe are just *TOO* big, to the point they look silly as Monks or Ninjas. I think I have a hard time getting behind Highlanders, because they share animations with the Midlanders, making them seem kind of goofy.
Honestly, though, it's just like you said; just a *little* more muscle, and I think they would be spot-on. Pretty much just their neck and chest, and maybe make their torso a little more defined (they look a little too "svelte" or "smooth", like Elezen)

Can you elaborate on this? Obviously you can see I'm a midlander, but I also frequently play my highlander alt. (male as well.) And I've never seen either of them have the same animations. The only thing I can think off the top of my head is probably the running animation, I really never pay attention to running animations anymore. But any other animation (aside from battle, but all races share those :/, cept for some Lalas) I've never seen been shared between them.

If there is one thing Highlanders have over other clans, is that their emotes ARE different from Midlanders. And yes, they run differently too.
Really wish I had different emotes on my Keeper than the Seeker's emotes. Miqo'te emotes are all too happy/excited, and Keepers are supposed to be more serious and brooding by lore. >_< Gah SE, why did you go lazy on all other races but Hyur?!
Au Ras will definitely have shared emotes again, I can call it just by how damn equal the two clans look...
Well, Running and Sprinting animations are the main culprits, because they look really goofy and sort of feminine. I mean, it works in the case of Hildibrand, because that's kind of his schtick, but with the Au Ra supposedly being billed as larger and more physical race, I feel like they're just a *bit* short of that goal. Running and Sprinting animations are a huge reason I wound up going with a Miqo'te for my first character, as they are the only ones that still seemed somewhat masculine (which is strange for, you know, kitteh-peeple).
I really can't wait for the creation benchmark so that we can test all of the extremes on their sliders. I feel like the current builds for male Au Ra being shown are a nice compromise between the Elezen male's elegance and the Roe's toughness. What I'm really hoping for is that there's as much extremities between the same sex of a clan (like...we could have the lowest setting on Midlander Hyur male but go to the highest setting on Highlander male hyur, for example). Since SE seemed bent on assuring us that females could go from being the cute little things they've shown to a "succubus-looking creature" (whatever that means), we can hope they're planning to give Au Ra as much diversity as possible.
Why wait until the Nico Nico conference for the benchmark, SE? T_T It's already painful enough I can't switch until summer.

Honestly why "Muscle" Why not "Scales?"Well, Roe are just *TOO* big, to the point they look silly as Monks or Ninjas.
To be honest, I would totally support that. The problem, again, is that once you slap on any sort of armor, you're right back to square one. I'm probably in the minority, but I actually like the bone/scale beard on the males, but it's just not something that's going to come through at a glance (just like Roegadyn having piercing eyes isn't exactly a major feature for them, even though it looks cool).
More scales would be welcome, in my opinion, but ultimately wouldn't be noticeable outside of "beach-wear". Giving them a little more muscle, though, and that would come through. Right now, they look similar enough to Elezen even without armor, so they'll be almost indistinguishable with it. Character-silhouette is a hugely important part of character design, and honestly, I think the Au Ra need a more unique silhouette, and my vote simply goes for adding a bit more muscle, like in the artwork.
