This, and the help button in 11 was just kinda laughable >.< Not to mention current claims and sp/xp rewards get messed up from typical claiming, open system is a great fix xD

At least in 11 with /help if some1 hit it I'd know to toss some noob a cure and give them a hand.

Because by the time its implemented, and we find out it sucks, it will be too late. I'm not sure why everyone is deathly afraid of bots in this game. If bots have half the lag as everyone else, it's still a fair claiming system lol. Whoever gets the miracle luck of the draw and their battle command actually registers instantly wins.
Also, I think everyone is forgetting something: I thought the entire point of making 2/3 of the game server side and subjecting us to the lag by having each action/menu selection travel the world twice was to diminish the impact of duping and botting.. since it's obvious that it doesn't really help with botting at all, the entire thing was an exercise in toolery.
When SE finishes implementing battle mechanics to the point where things like TP feed matter on high level NMs, the everyone and their grandma being able to hit a mob thing is going to destroy battle strategy. As someone else had said, they'll just end up needing to make every outside NM a tank and spank affair.
So, here's how I would propose to change the system:
1 party/alliance with claim only.
How the battle for claim goes down: No more instant claim. All mobs are engaged "white" until sufficient enmity and damage has accumulated to decide a "claimer". The non-winning claimers are force disengaged and have their enmity stripped.
1 shotting or killing an unclaimed mob will result in SP and loot rewards, as intended.
Something that encourages competition but can't be easily botted, and allows a higher degree of consistency and fairness for endgame camping.
If you don't think new summoner is better, you're playing the wrong game.
I just want to say the developer has made too much idea that wanna to get thing right, but we don't need them, sometimes I think this will be better to sort out by the players ourselves. Also here will have a problem about experience sharing plus some bad players will just come join the fighting without asking. There will be a big consequence for the game balance!
I would like to suggested that for now, the developer only need to think about the improvement of the contents of this game such as story line, new job, chocobo etc. Please stop those meaningless idea about the rules of fighting monster or party, no one ask them to "change".

This is a horrible idea, I understand it they say it is not for the real rare items but at the same time lots of the player based want open world HNMS and like the competition. And if this is added this system has many problems to it. There will be people trying to wipe the group that claims it first so they can reclaim it, and second there is not a challenge to the fight if everyone can join in.


i like the idea of dropping the claim system, however they cannot distribute loot based on damage or everyone will just play archer. As glad, i will get no loot at all.
Yes, and the fatigue system meant you would only be allowed to play for a couple hours a month, then you wouldn't ever be able to level up at all until it reset, right?
They AREN'T distributing loot this way. Stop spreading misinformation, and learn some damn reading comprehension skills.
I swear, I'm getting tired of the aspie basement dwellers here with all their "WAH! I don't like it 'cause it's different!" I'm starting to hope they change it to a Diablo II loot system, where everything just drops on the ground and it's up for grabs to anyone close enough to click on it.

I will admit, I stopped logging in after I seen them say the claim system would be taken away since valuble items will be instanced. Pathetic. Instances for ALL good items? Bye.
