They come from desynths, whoever lists them has no control over what they get, and the supply is likely 50/50 between the male and female versions.. so you're basically gambling when you desynth, which is what desynth is to begin with.. No matter what item it is, there are some results that's complete crap and some that are jackpots..

Sorry, but I don't think you're legally allowed to say these words on this thread. Your suggestion was to censor the Market Board. Make it impossible to sell X item lower or higher because of Y's price. I don't think you realize the effect this would have on gatherers and crafters.

Now, this second suggestion of yours isn't as bad, but it's still pretty silly, because again, CUL Desynth would have fewer recipes and it would lower the prices. Do you want that? Well, of course you do! You can't pay the item you want. But I don't, most crafters don't. And if you're not a Fisher, then you shouldn't ask for changes on the classes you don't play.

All my classes and crafts and gathering are maxxed. You should look at someones profile before you try to call them out. I can easily buy the item but I won't pay 20x more then what it is worth out of principal.

What principal would that be?

I rarely buy glamour, especially if I feel the item is overpriced but my apprehension doesn't come from some "principal" as you put it, I'm just cheap and I don't wanna pay more than what I feel it's worth.. no matter how much gil I have..

But get this.. Your perceived value of the item may be 1/20 of what it's listed for on the MB, but if it's selling for that price, then ya know.. that's what its real value is as determined by the masses. You're welcome to determine what the item is worth to you, but you can't force upon that value onto others.. As much as I would like to.. I mean, people buying furnitures for 2-3m when the mats are worth 500k.. Yeah I'd like to do something about it but whatever, it's their money.

the same amount of work/time goes into making both the male and female version, so your argument about it is irrelevant; work/time-wise both pieces should cost equally, but 1 piece cost 20x more, that's what the point of the thread is. the point isn't to censor your crafting/gathering, and make it more difficult for you to make gil. I'm sure that zumi would have been ok with the whole thing, had both pieces cost 2mil.

Ti Leaf Lei can't be crafted. It's coming from desynthing the same fish that also can give you the Coronal Summer Halter.
So it is more a situation of same supply (if both have the same chance), but different demands.

Can't something be done like having 1 item if it is sellable so the gender of your character doesn't change the price. The only reason vanity gear is so much more expensive is because more people with like to dress up their female characters vs their male ones.

If I understand correctly what you are asking here... As a result of your solution, you'll wind up with a single unisex item that STILL costs way more than you'd be willing to pay for it. Just because the halter could be worn by both males and females (with different appearance for each gender, of course) doesn't change the fact that folks with female characters will want the swimsuits. Heck, it might even be slightly MORE expensive, due to the few male characters who DO like the look buying up some of the stock that was previously only usable by females.

The item will still cost 1.6 million gil. The only difference is that you'll no longer have a cheap male version to be jealous about.
