Im kind of new an my ilvl is only 83 atm. Therefore, idk what the average ilvl people will be once they complete 2.55

As people have already stated, you have to be i90 to complete the 2.55 story. That aside I would like to point out that Yoshida has said that you will not immediately replace your gear at level 51. ( For the life of me, I cannot find this quote... if someone else can, please post it! ) To me, this means, while at 51 we won't replace gear, they will have better gear for leveling at some point along the journey from 50-60. He has also stated that earning the new "AF" gear will be easy but not connected to the new Job quests. I would also personally take this that it will be something we get along the way or at the end of the story/questing to 60.

Personal theory is that ilvl gear will end up being equal to a point of the new leveling gear...personally I could see i130 being around lvl 55. Meanwhile newbies getting through all this for the first time after expansion, instead of needing ilvl 90, will just need to get a few levels over 50 and be geared up for it, say about lvl 52ish or something.

Give or take a certain amount of levels, but I can't see Steps being that much farther lvl wise since there will be whole new areas for them (and us) after it.
