Seems they're jelly you are playing how you like to play. You clearly should not play a game you pay for how you want hence why you have to be a job to q duty finder. Oh wait....

The only problem with that argument is that the other seven people in the party pay their sub as well. If one person playing how they want to play ends up negatively impacting the party, the rest of them are perfectly within their rights to vote dismiss. Queueing as a marauder instead of a warrior is basically saying "I want to play a DPS but I want to take advantage of the tank queue time," and isn't really fair to the twelve DPS across the raid. If someone playing "how they want" entailed not doing any mechanics so that the raid wiped repeatedly, wouldn't you kick them for trolling or impeding progress? Playing as a pseudo-tank instead of a tank runs the risk of doing exactly that. There's plenty of newbie tanks out there in LotA and if you just happen to get one of them in your party, suddenly your alliance is completely screwed for any stage that actually requires them to have a tank.

Were they within their rights to boot you? Yes. (See impacting play comments and majority rules)
Should they have been assholes about it? No. (See civility and common courtesy)
Should they have kicked you? Waste of time IMO. (lolLotA)

I watched overgeared folks tunnelvision today in LotA and kill bone dragon so fast all the adds were still spawning and suffice to say, it was a wipe, which nearly happened a second time until an entire party went down to the aoe and we had a slower pace of dps on boss while others focused adds. As long as you are smart in your play and I don't rip hate off you, IDGAF, unless I'm in coils. That's the only time I expect everyone to at least try to pull their weight.

I missed a point here, Azira was kind enough to point it out. It took 10 minutes to get to the bone dragon? Did they lag back or were there issues with the trash pulls?

That said, I would see what rotation your marauder friend was using. Storm's eye, storm's path?

I can check. Xalar is the best tank I've run with and he's hyper aware of the mechanics and theorycraft, so I have faith that he was being efficient.

I'm seeing a lot of MRD's in LoT.
They just die a lot more easy and putting strain to us healers because people think they can faceroll
CT and you can't in a majority of the fights.

If the devs feel qing as a mrd is faulty then make content above 30 job locked in Df. Since it's not he was in no form wrong for doing it. Besides that maybe he wanted loot. Maybe he only has a 50 mrd. At the end of the day it's a stupid reason to kick. He said the reason he got kicked was for being mrd. They never got to see what he was capable of.

Just because it's allowed by game mechanics doesn't mean that it'll suffice in group settings.
I can also queue for df using a full crafting set, but if I did that, I'd sure as hell be kicked.

Game design is just a guideline, a basic framework for us to work with. We as the player base determine what behavior is acceptable and what isn't. In OP's case, it's unfortunate that she happened to be grouped up with a bunch of hard asses, but that's what you get sometimes by joining random groups. There's no guarantee everybody will have the patience to watch how things go before making an informed decision, some people just decide by their own biases and it's not always fair, but majority rule is the best system we've got so far..

Honestly, every MRD I can recall seeing in a level 30+ duty has been total crap. Likewise with GLA, or 40+ PLDs that didn't bother questing Shield Oath (soooooo many Stone Vigil runs with Shield Oathless PLDs... sigh)

Even if they can slightly out-DPS a WAR, it's really not worth potentially looking like a gimp for in front of 7 strangers, which is precisely what you're doing when you show up to a post-30 duty as a class instead of a job. When you do it at 50, you honestly just look like you're trolling.

You're better off as WAR so that if it comes down to it you still actually can adequately perform your intended role function.
