You already made it clear that you don't want people to queue for CM/Prae anymore in your wall of text.

However, I think you're overestimating the number of good samaritans out there who want to spend dozen of minutes inside a dungeon for a crappy Soldiery/Time ratio.

Every possible outcome from this situation is bad. The goal is to pick the lesser evil.
Kitano123's way to see it still allow new players to queue quite fast into these dungeons and get things done. Sure, not with the best possible experience, but they can still do it regardless, thanks to the "jerks" you want to kill so bad.
Your solution, on the other hand, while protecting the experiences of the new players, will drastically increase the queue time for these dungeons, to the point that they might have to queue only on peak hours during weekend to get in.

The fact that you want to end Kitano123's life because what you was reading "gave you cancer", doesn't mean that your solution is better.
In fact, your solution is just an utopia (and you probably know that, sorry).

The sad thing is that people will be jerks about cutscenes for all sorts of reasons. While FCOB was on lockout, I had cleared T12 or had just started/in last phase (I don't remember). I remember though, mainly, that the cutscene right before is pretty long. 10+ min. So a few of us had been there and a few others hadn't even cleared T11 yet. People wanted to practice it because it was Monday night 9pm PST. The response to seeing people in cutscenes? "Hey could you skip it? It's like 10 min let's get our practice in."

I believe that Yoshi knows the mistake he made with Praetorium and Castrum and that is why it has not been repeated since. The difference between running those 2 dungeons quickly and watching the cutscenes fully is somewhere around 20-30 minutes, depending on the speed that the player reads the scenes and continues.

Traditionally, with most Final Fantasy games and RPGs in general, the story is often heavily interweaved into fights. If I recall, prior to FFXIV, Yoshi primarily dealt with single player RPGs, and operated among similar assumptions when designing Castrum and Praetorium. Now that he has more experience with the 'mass' consumption of the MMO experience, he correspondingly adapted and moved the cutscenes.

Although I cannot help but to think that something was lost in this movement, perhaps this is why the conclusion of 2.55 is so lackluster, considering that a similar "dungeon" that would allow you to fight your way to freedom would eventually be encouraged to just skip.

Additionally, I checked the cutscenes in the Inn, I do not believe you are able to view the initial pre-fight and post-fight cutscenes, such as that great monologue before Ultima Weapon with Gaius on the elevator shaft in the Praetorium. You can only view the primary cutscenes.

Perhaps they could add some incentives for viewing the cutscenes, such as a morality meter like they have in SWTOR, considering recent critiques of the WoL's lack of personality, but then that has it's own issues. There's not a good solution for this.

Some people are confused as to why anyone chooses to go back into Castrum/Praetorium when they're just jerks that insist on speed running. If you're one of the people wondering, it's obvious you've never inspected the other players that often do these 2 trials, if you had done so, you'd know that in Castrum's case, it's an exceptionally good dungeon for spiritbonding ilvl 41-49 gear. In and out in 20-25 minutes gets you 95% done (without any melds on the items). Then there's the soldiery, people doing relic number 2 or 3 or even number 1, need boat loads of it, SE intentionally put such a big bonus on the story dungeons, without it there would be less reason to go back. Why should people spend 40 minutes in a dungeon for 100 soldiery, when they can do 2 other dungeons for the same amount of soldiery, plus get poetics, gil and actual loot? Then there's the fact Praetorium is an alternative way to get the Gaius card for Triple Triad. I've seen players run Dragon Neck trial 20-300 times for a card drop, and that takes approx 10 minutes each time. Oh how lovely it would be to do 300 Praetorium runs at 30+ minutes each....

This is entirely 100% a design caused issue. In fact, it's not even an issue. Older content becomes neglected, SE had made the dungeons an integral part of the story so they needed a way to populate them, they added a card, added soldiery, and left them as a great way to SB, and even have no ilvl cap. So 1 person complains because, wait for it... some others don't share their view on play style! Whilst most of us agree no-one should be abused or belittled, those of you that think the newbie should be treated like some kind of diety and shown deference need to sort out priorities.

Its quit simple and infact SE agress with me, if the majority of the group doesnt want to watch cut scenes then the single person who does is at fault. The group was gracious enough not to kick the OP for being a jerk which they are entirely within there rights to do.

And even worse, this isn't the first thread to be discussing this issue, which goes to show just how awful this whole thing is.

I also don't recall saying I don't want veterans to sign up for Main Scenario either. Just that they should have more respect for those around them.

They dont have to watch the cutscenes for you to get the bonus...
