It may have not been abysmal for you, stop applying your experiences onto everyone else. Just because it happened to you, it's not going to happen for the rest of us. This is really getting old. This is RNG, there is NO Law of Averages here. RNG is RNG, nothing else.

I'm so tired of the reasoning you have the card so you have good rng. On some cards yes. On others no. But that's the same for everyone. Yes I have almost all the cards but guess what. Ever since Gold Saucer other then all the grinding I did for cards from trials/dungeons/wod. I don't do coil. I don't do Pvp. I don't do dungeons. I don't do trials. I don't farm. I don't craft. All I do ingame anymore is Triple Triad and Chocobo Racing. Do I advocate everyone to do what I do? No, of course not. Only reason I do is because I enjoy it.

If you don't like the system don't partake in it. No one is forcing you. If you don't like rng I don't know why you'd ever play an mmo when all mmo's have rng.

And if you really don't like the system you can wait. SE is good with easing the rng after awhile.

They main problem is we are not talking about just one RNG roll.
You have like 4 of them.

RNG roll = what cards you'll get with random on.
RNG roll = what rule will be on the match with roulette.

And if you win....

RNG roll = will a card drop or not
RNG roll = Lightning

Some RNG is fine, but RNG over RNG over RNG is plain stupid.

Wouldn't use a joke to justify another... (and I got my Lightning card - it was the first card that dropped. Lucky me, but does not help others)

We all know that the tournament got nothing to do with effort, skill or luck. You "cheat" or you lose. Simple as that.

I agree that unless you play the system (re: cheat), there is no real healthy competition.

The only way that I can see to make the tournament more fair is to eliminate win-trade possibility: by removing the human factor from our competitors.

As in, you can only challenge NPCs in the Gold Saucer sanctioned tourney.

I know... seems like a bummer, but it doesn't discourage player-based tournaments using alternate rewards, at least.

Are you forgetting that there are only 3 cards? It's like the other guys will just let you get on the top 3 peacefully.
