I would have said teleport the hell out of there. But i'm pretty sure storywise you teleport by being next to a main crystal and sending yourself to other. But gameplay wise yoshi-p may have just allow you to teleport anywhere just for convenient.

I get where people, that are upset with the outcome, are coming from. I mean I've bested Dravanians.. Toppled Primals.. It was by my hand, that the Garlean Empire was forced into full retreat. So does Ilberd and his little Crystal Braves really think they have any chance agaianst me? Though from a story perspective, if we -had- ran or attacked Teledji and his Brass Blades, it would have looked like we were just trying to eliminate any witnesses and made us look even more guilty, to the rest of Ul'dah. Under those circumstances, yes, allowing them to taken you into custody would be the 'lesser of two evils' so to speak. And it wasn't as big a deal for Thancred to fight back in self defense, because he wasn't the one being directly accused of murdering the Sultana, we were.

I think a lot of people are looking at this too much from the third-person, video game player's perspective. Of course, as the player we are able to know things much better than our characters because we see things from every angle. Heck, we even see the bad guys acting all suspicious, while our characters looks away.

Secondly, I think it's important to separate the 'game aspect' from the 'world aspect'.
For example, if our character gets stabbed and bleeds to death, from a game aspect we can simply be healed by magic or revived. But from a world aspect, our character would, well, die. Otherwise, nobody in this world will ever actually die. If that were the case, then I think that magic and potions would have a much larger role and ramification to the world and story. Which it does not. Another example would be use of aetherytes. From a game aspect, we can just use them whenever because it's more convenient for the player. But from a realistic world aspect, using aetherytes uses a lot of magic and preparation. Otherwise, why wouldn't people simply use it everytime they're in a bad situation or needs to escape?
I have a big, big, BIG problem with this text in here. So you're saying is, healing magic in a fantasy world only exists as a game mechanic, becasue in other genres healers are just NPCs that top off life bars and dispell 20 second wear off debuffs. All my time spent leveling ALC to 50 and BTN to 50 and CUL to 50, so I can make food and medicence to hungry and sick people, that doesn't matter, because people crave death and violence and twitch action because it's cool.

I know this is going to come as a shock to you, but my job has a while friggin storyline and it has lore and even one of the GC leaders as one. I'm tired of people dying in front of me and not being able to do anything about it. Apparently the game assumes I'm a DPS class or something when I do these cutscenes.

You have magic in a fantasy game, you made a fantasy world. Don't just write off magic like its just "there" because its a game. Tellah form FF4 and Galuf from FF5 had credible deaths. Clerics and Wizards ARE NOT GODS. Especially not MMO PCs... you don't need to treat magic that way... I'm tired of just being there to be an HPS whore.

Healing does exist in this game in the world aspect but as in a game aspect is way stronger. The issue is for us players it does a hell a lot more then for world aspect npc. Here a example of a adventurer using world aspect healing it was shown in 1.0 opening movie. It was most likely used more as cosmetic then anything then showing a boring flashing Heal spell. In a game aspect it look like a cure spell just goes to you and heal your injuries. But in a world aspect i'm guessing it more direct contact "hands on"

The issue with FFXIV is most people see the story as a online one. But in reality when you doing mission/quest it feel like you are the main adventurer that save everyone. While technically the NPC does say warrior of lights as more then one. But imo it feel more like they saying that to fit in the idea of you getting your online friends to help you. But story wise it feel like a lot like you the only WOL and main adventurer with a lot of hinting of other warrior of light "e.g players" I remember yoshi-p saying a while back that the people in the intro movies from 1.0-2.0 opening was real adventurer and there in the game following the events like you are. But at the same time they just examples of us players in the opening while still being real ingame. I hope we get to meet them one day like yoshi-p said but maybe that may never happen.

That the problem with FFXIV they mention the fact of warrior of light but imo there really only one. So when i see the story-line i'm the hero and the people that i get our just normal adventurer who could really die. But in there view they are the hero and i'm just a normal adventurer. Which i'm pretty sure everyone get that.

As for death we as the WOL don't die we go to the lifestream and our body is rebuild at our saving home point crystal. While others if they HP drop to zero they aether is release and send back to the life stream with no way of rebuilding the body. So in a funny way you can say we're like primals we don't die we just come back by Hydaelyn giving life to us once more to keep us going.

maybe i'm going into it too much but at the end this should be post on it's own topic and we should stay on topic.

    How I felt:
    {Berserk} {Tomahawk} <Teledji Adeledji's face>
    {Holmgang} <Hand-maiden> {Infuriate} and {Steel Cyclone} the rest.

    But where was my weapon?!
Then again being passive is probably wiser in the end.
The weapon plothole is probably the most annoying thing; where did it go and where did it come from? Cotton-Eye Joe?!

Everything seems so obvious... I didn't trust that hand-maiden since she made her first appearance (that was before 2.4? I believe)... the bottle we find and that guy that tells us to go away, practically. The poisonous wine, made me , but the 'execution' was a bit graphic, for my taste. It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

What I'd rather do is go collect more sea-shells with Tataru... and maybe find out what she's really up to.

Yeah, I only saw one character clearly get dis-armed... and it definitey wasn't me, because I still have both of mine at the end.

Less ranty version: I would have preferred to have taken part in how I got apprehended. Though I am more in the resistance camp than the submission camp, even seeing(or better, doing) a failed attempt would been satisfying.

As it stands, everything feels too wrapped up in a bow for my taste, even the harriers at least have some presence in the over world and are willing to try attacking me.

"You can't do anything without your weapons, it's gameplay affecting the story!"
"Esuna wouldn't have done anything (or any of the dozen or so antidotes I carry on me at all times) because that's just for gameplay, obviously it won't affect the story."

I hate this pick and choose bullcrap.
Honestly they should have had your character also just drink the damn poison, but live. You've got a stronger constitution than the Sultana; you could likely ingest some tiny amount of poison and not die immediately. Tada, your character is weakened and you're in no condition to be kicking any sort of ass. It'd also explain why everyone, including useless-ass Minfilia, felt that they needed to die to protect you. You've gone through hell and back (sorta literally with Diabolos and World of Darkness) for them when they needed it, it'd be nice for them to finally help you in your time of need.

Also don't do that whole poison vial crap out in the desert; what, am I supposed to believe that their entire plan actually hinged on me finding that stupid piece of trash in the desert and for some bizarre reason decided to keep it? If I was going through Thanalan and I saw a discarded vial I wouldn't think twice about it. When was the last time you were at the mall with friends, saw some trash under a bush and immediately though "This is super important, I'd better keep it with me!" Just have Taledeji hold it up if he's going to frame us anyway.

Or hell, have Taledeji be surprised that you're still alive when he comes in. Have him come in and say "Oh, you yet live? And I had a wonderful tale about you and the other scions not getting along... and how I was too late to save you. Hm... now that I think about it though, perhaps you'd be better alive. I had need of a martyr, but perhaps I can replace that with a villain. Put him/her in chains and bring him/her to the banquet hall. I have a plan..."
