They don't need a glow. It is special enough that they are backworn (well, aside from the saw, where the Ullikummi/Supra/Lucis are all backworn). I think that is pretty cool. That's the sole reason I got my luminary tools back in the day, so I had giant hammers and frying pans on my back.

Now I'm curious. How many people actually look at the color of the glowing sphere during crafting? I've always just watched the crafting window itself, which spells out the condition by name as "Normal" "Good" "Excellent" or "Poor".

    1. it would be ridiculous if the items glowed during crafting, agreed
    2. the Allagan weapon glow is really subtle and "lights up" only when unsheathed
    3. Crafters have 3 stages of weapon display:
    • kneeling/crafting
    • sheathed
    • unsheathed/attacking
It is during the unsheathed/attacking stage that I suggest Glowing Display

    4. ALL other Crafting tools don't glow, and frankly, most look identical. The subtle differences between Carpenter or Weaver Tool as a Lucis, a Supra, and Normal are scarcely worth mentioning.

    5. Crafters also have the power to make Glamour Prisms, and a Lucis typically requires all 8 classes at 50 to succeed, therefore, Lucis owners aren't forced to buy a Prism from the Market board, as a DoW or DoM would.

    6. A Glow/Not Glow button option for All classes, Similar to Display Weapon/Headgear would Make Everyone Happy, including many people with Zodiac weapons.

Nothing is quite so boring as nothing.

so if a Lucis requires all 8 at 50, how would a dow/m have a Lucis that is forced to buy a prism for the Lucis?

Huh? Lucis are crafting tools, and as shintashi mentioned, they generally require having all crafting classes at 50 to make them, so anyone with a Lucis tool must have the ability to make their own glamour prisms. DoW and DoM don't have to craft their weapons, so they may not have the ability to make their own glamour prisms (unless the player has diverse interests and coincidentally happens to craft as well). Hence Lucis tools can be more readily glamoured than Relic weapons.

Yeah i know, but this is about glamouring lucis not dow/m weapons, you dont actually need a lucis to make any sort of prism though.
