Nothing, except the interview the OP posted. I'll let you look at it again...

If you played the game back in beta, you got access to every job regardless of quests. You just equip an item and you're the class/job. It's going to be no different here. More than likely a moogle mail will have three weapons sent as unlocks.
CE items still have gated unlocks if they were needed. You couldn't use the mount until you unlocked chocobos through the story and the same has been said of Heavensward's flying mount preorders. The exact same way you got your CE or preorders. The second you log in, you get things delivered to your moogle giving you access to everything RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. The game from day one has already been handling things this exact same way.
The new interviews have said absolutely nothing about how to unlock the jobs. They're only saying to advance jobs, you must do it in Ishgard.
It must be nice to not be able to see further than your own nose. Personally I would have liked to play through the story with a job I actually liked. Since there are none of the current ones I enjoy I was going to give Machinist a go. With that I would have liked to actually have fun and feel cool doing the storyline and considering how much of the storyline that is actually just go fetch and run around wasting your time earning some exp would have been nice too. As it is I would have to go on a job that is already max to earn no exp and play on a job I don't enjoy just to be able to get to the point where I can get a job I want to try. You don't see a problem because you don't have one. That does not mean there isn't one. At least for some. Instead of telling people to play something else try to keep an open mind, this is just a discussion about how to make this game as good as it can be, not about how everyone who does not enjoy it the way you do should quit.
Well if you go by this interview, then yeah. You can't access Ishgard unless you're done with 2.55 story. But that article VERY clearly states that you do not have to have 2.55 done for the new jobs.
"The new jobs added in Heavensward are not tied to the main story, so those are accessable as well."
That's the original answer preserved for posterity. SE sent them a clarification that states the access to the new job quests are in Ishgard as well.Well if you go by this interview, then yeah. So--I didn't even know this--he's saying you buy Heavensward, type in your registration code, you install the game, and you can probably be DRK right from the beginning. Probably. Maybe (Yoshida speaking). Maybe. *Laughter*
End Transcript
So, yeah, it was clearly stated that maybe you could be a DRK right from the beginning. But the more recent interviews have confirmed otherwise.
