That's hilarious and ridiculous. 'Read up on the fight' - how about no. It's a story trial, lawd.
I have done it via DF but I think everyone has a right to state their requirements, plus reading up on the fight means SPOILER ALERT knowing that adds should be under the boss, that people should use dragon killer and snares.
Nothing wrong with that really... that's usually after having tried it a few times and only getting people that don't listen to what to do.
One or two dry runs to let people see what it's about should be enough, but a lot of people just refuse to listen and do their own thing instead. Causing wipes and frustrating other players.
It's HILARIOUS when casuals get a chance to flex their "raiding muscles" by putting stuff like this up in PF for day one content. News flash: no one's impressed you took a day off from manning the cashier at the corner 7-11 to down this first and lord over it.
what bothers me the most from reading the discussions so far about this trial is the fact that the adds are harder than the boss.
when will we ever get a set of developers in a game who can make a single boss challenging instead of relying on annoying adds to provide the challenge? phoenix is a good example of a snooze-fest if it weren't for the bennus, literally nothing else in that fight is interesting and even the bennus aren't that interesting.

Because that's totally the EXACT situation with everyone posting on the PF right now.
Anyway, I would venture a guess that the more hardcore are the ones more likely to pull this type of stuff, but hey, that's just my assumption. As a filthy casual, I couldn't give a rat's ass, and I'll get around to this fight sometime this week...I think.
I seriously doubt any of the hardcore raiders would act like this. Who would they be trying to impress? In my experience, the one's with the heavy sighing, hemming and hawing of first day content like story-mode Trials and Dungeons tend to be mediocre players who were just first in line. It really is their one and only to shine in their own mind.
