Sorry dude, but you're wrong in your justification. If it was made to watch during the dungeon, than you're just going to have to suck it up.I don't really see any good people in that chat, so what are you trying to say? The fact you can hardly tell who's saying what aside, every person involved seems to be a bit of a twat.
Just because you're new doesn't mean that you can have things your way, especially if you're just one person in a party of 8.
Blame Square Enix for foolishly putting cutscenes in the middle of the dungeon and then making them able to be skipped.
Also, side note, 20-30 seconds may not seem like long, but it's tedious to sit there and wait for ONE person.

Any time the cs issue comes up, I think at the good times on GW when you cannot skip a cs until everyone chosen to skip it.

SE reallllly needs to find a solution that will make both sides happier. >< Cause right now we have two large groups whose happiness is mutually exclusive. ; ;

To Dagny,
I haven't been checking on the forum much lately but I took time getting my pass token to login to tell you that you have my support as an MMO gamer and an FF fan. I've seen countless threads on this forum where people like you are insulted and jeered at for having a reasonable opinions and pointing out flaws inherent in FFXIV:ARR design (yes this game is far from perfect). All of which is for naught because people will twist your words to attack your character and label you as the stereotypical elitist jerk and in turn perpetuate the vicious cycle of elite vs casual.
However, despite how elitist some people in this thread claimed that you may be, I believe that you are just a perfectly normal player that love the game just like most of us. I know that you just want to make DF a more efficient experience because you value other people's time and I share your sentiment. Please don't let this negative experience affect your enjoyment of the game and keep on adventuring to Heavensward!

This may not apply to the incident that you have cited but healers do not raise dead players after the boss dies because raising them will give them a debuff - it is better for them to run back without the debuff to start the next fight. Having more of the debuff increases the likelihood of that player dying again due to lowered HP.
Hmm...
FACT: People who treat new players like crap are saying one thing and one thing only, "I want this game to fail."
No, there's no problem. People in general tries to find a way to make a problem because they are bored. If you look at the forums long enough you'll see everyone arguing over something general. From cash shops to same sex marriage in game to second coil nerfs to ninja nerfs to whatever. You wanna know why? People can never be happy. A person will never be happy unless he has something and no one else have it. A person is never happy unless that person is special and everyone acknowledges it. This is not an SE problem. This is our problem. When are we gonna mutually respect each other?

We make it a point to take our FC members through pre-50 content with a majority of other FC members, so they can enjoy the cutscenes. If 6/8 people in Praetorium say "We're letting Player #6 here watch his cutscenes" the odds of the other 2 people throwing up a fuss about it are pretty low.
If you're not in a FC that makes it a point to run through content with its new members for its very reason, I pity you.

I main a healer and I never do that. First rule of healing: raise other healer first, period. It is way riskier to potentially die yourself and have 0 heals for the party.No, healers don't res dead weights because it's risky. Especially for WHM because once you run out of mana on WHM, there's not much you can do other than just constantly spam Cure 1 on the MT.. That's about all you can do with the base mana regen. Usually if I see a healer that dies more than twice in combat, or I know that their healing output isn't going to be much, I'd just rather heal the party solo than risk burning out on my mana.
You should ask other healers around you what they do, it's actually a pretty common thing to skip res on healers and save the mana for the unexpected, you have to adapt according to the situation.
