    I can't help but notice how much longer and nicer the hair always looks in the artwork. Sucks that clipping is going to make our hair shorter till the end of time in XIV.

    Fixed it for you.
    Hair rendering gives render teams nightmares. That's why the number of long hair options in pretty much every MMO ever made (as well as pretty much everything with 3D character models) are so small. It's always a choice between good hairstyles and armor clipping.
    FFXIV is trying their best to give us both complex armor and good hairstyles, to mixed results.
