If u got a small server with a small group of high end crafters, chances r ur 3 star node items won't sell as to the usual 1/2 star items.

I find that high end gatherers are an even more of a rarity than crafters. On Jenova (among the smallest servers) virgin basilisk eggs are between 10-20k and rosemary are 4-10k. It's quite volatile because there's never enough on the MB.

3 star items gives few profit, i tried once and decided that selling nq at 1-2k price level and hq at 10-20k level is not interesting at all.

In my world it's very difficult to sell artisan offhands for more than 1M gil. 800-900K. Maths costs ~650k. I prefer to sell i90 gear for 200-300K paying 20-30k for maths.

This weekend I went over my gathering stuff and ended up leveling a GSM so I could material meld low level acc. I ended up getting my Gathering to 344 with l tier 1 materia melded to low level stuff and then the food buff got me to 355, so just enough to start trying to get Fragrant Logs. I finally got my chance, and with 40% I missed every time -.-;; but at least I can finally hit it.

You need more stats to get tools. When i started gathering 2 star tokens, i already had fully melded forager gear set, quest main tool and forager offhand. I used quality oriented 650gp rotation and had 90-95% success and 32-37% hq chance. Totally i gathered a little less than 3 stacks of tokens - 1 stack hq and 2 stacks nq. This means that i spent ~50 hours of gametime to get lucis.

Well Im working on my Novius weapon right now and that takes my gil priority over gathering. I'm just also trying to slowly get my gathering up so I can get these fragrant logs to get that forager stuff without breaking my bank or grinding for gil.
