Its like our currency means shit now compared to other countriesThat would be awesome right haha! $130 for Australian CE!
But too bad not happening.
FF Type 0 CE was sold for A$199 where US was just selling for $100.
Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain Collectors Edition selling for $100 in US, UK for £130 and in Australia... A$250...
I was so certain that it would be between A$275 - $300
I do agree.... However I don't see this happening
Since we are under PAL Region.. most likely our items are from the UK.
Plus Shipping + GST + Profit made it so expensive...
Unless repackaging and have their own distributing centre here, we won't see this happening for some major products
Warner with Mortal Kombat X is doing a great job keeping CE pricing some what reasonable
Price is set by what the market can bear.
Australians, in the past, have paid stupid amounts for AAA titles and people will buy this CE also for the $300 and reinforce to sellers that they can keep increasing the prices.
The only way to stop these kinds of prices is to stop paying them.

I can only hope, the next expansion they don't try to screw people over, i mean its not about the collector edition being expensive but the fact that it was so limited and mismanaged that Europe and Australia started to panic over.
And this made us feel unwanted and made our exceptions low to the point of begging and when we do get it its somehow overpriced. now eb games could say its because local suppliers forced them to sell for $300 but this is just plain out unacceptable.
For the next expansion Square Enix, for the love of god don't short out the Euorpe/Oceania again.
And try to sell physical on the Europe square enix store if you have too.
Because at this point it feels like rejection more then supply management.

I could say the same for triple AAA movies with making the final movie a part one and two because soooooooooo many of them are doing that now but that is million people watching those movies. Telling millions of people to stop watching is time consuming because they wont get the message right away.Price is set by what the market can bear.

I'll just buy the Digital CE then buy the physical later off Gumtree... Screw that pricing and screw whoever thought it's gonna sell at all

A parliamentary inquiry in 2012 solved the mystery of why Australians are charged so much for goods such as software and it's not due to cost, but regional pricing strategies. The games section on page 40 is worth a read. Basically we pay more because historically we have, and they have no reason to adjust prices to reflect the cost of business.
There is only one way to put effective pressure on this and it is to undermine regional pricing by buying from other regions online, which even after shipping is usually cheaper (which really pokes a hole in the "stuff is expensive to ship to Australia" argument when you find lower cost without the benefit of scale). The above example about AAA movies is correct, but the great thing is that many games are not AAA movies and actually move very little units; more consumer awareness that they can simply undermine the domestic retailers can have a good effect. I encourage people who are offended by these prices to simply not buy from Australia.

Weren't we named the most likely to pirate stuff by news and technology news groups?
You think that would be a good reason lol just saying, i don't pirate stuff.
Anyhow the reason we don't import a lot is because of region locks.

I just submitted an item request to Ozgameshop for the physical CE for Heavensward with a note that they will probably make a lot of money if they can offer it at a reasonable price.
